    Would it be possible to extend the quantize options so that, as well as ‘hard quantizing’, snapping notes exactly onto the beat, we had a softer quantize option that simply nudged the notes towards the beat.

    I’ve seen this in other sequencers (Reason, I think?) – you can specify a quantize percent. Obviously, at 100% it will snap the notes exactly on the beat. At lower settings, it will, for example, move the note 30% towards the beat. This allows you to tidy up a sloppy performance, whilst still preserving a looser, less mechanical feel.

    Hello CPB.

    You can use ‘randomize note timing’ and ‘randomize note velocity’ options in the track properties to “simulate ‘human’ inaccuracy”.

    Thanks Max: I’m aware of the randomize timing and velocity options, and great they are too! However, I’d like to tidy up sequences that I’ve recorded live from my midi keyboard. Unfortunately, I’m terrible at keyboard playing. Without quantization, they sound like experimental, tempo-less free jazz excursions. With quantization, they sound like Kraftwerk. I’m sure there’s a happy medium somewhere between these extremes!

    Of course randomizing is not a final solution, because you loose you personal playing style with ‘hard quantizing’. 🙁 It’s just kinda workaround until Frits will implement all major features he planned. 😉

    Hmmmmm I wonder what we Podium users would give to see exactly whats on Frits ‘first page of feature requests’ he he. 8)

    Actually you have been pretty transparent with upcoming features. 😉
