HermuParticipantPerformance Indicator flashes red, because raise CPU speed did not realy work with Podium 3.2.4 for Speedstep CPUs.
during playing with TyrellN6 v3 on my masterkeyboard, i have detected, most times the Podium Performance Indicator flashes red.
i have checked this issue with Studio One, but this is only a performance problem with podium. My System:
CPU: Intel I7 4770 with 3.4 GHz, 4 cores and 8 threads
RAM: 8 GB
Windows 8.1 64 bit
ASIO4ALL v2.11
Podium (x64) 3.2.4 – plugin multiprocessing is enabled
Studio One (x64) 2.6.3 – audio device multiprocessing is enabledPodium:
create a new project with 1 intrument track – TyrellN6 v3 (x64) PV Influx Pad
Taskmanager: CPU speed is 0,75 GHz
playing more than 10 notes at the same time on the keyboard and performance Indicator flashes red
Taskmanager: CPU speed goes up to max. 2,58 GHzStudio One:
create a new project with 1 intrument track – TyrellN6 v3 (x64) PV Influx Pad
Taskmanager: CPU speed is 0,75 GHz in Taskmanager
playing more than 10 notes at the same time on the keyboard and performance Indicator is max. 50%
Taskmanager: CPU speed goes up to max. 3,54 GHz (turbo mode)-

HermuParticipanttoday i have tested again with enabled multiprocessing:
podium 3.2.4 (x64) project with one track TyrellN6 x64 – PV Influx Pad
playing on keyboard with MidiIn for TyrellN6 x64 – Performance Indicator goes to flashing redi have also tested with REAPER v4.721 (x64) project with one track TyrellN6 x64 – PV Influx Pad
playing on keyboard with MidiIn for TyrellN6 x64 – Performance Indicator was always below 10%Intel I7 4770, RAM 8 GB, Windows 8.1 x64

HermuParticipantit seems it has to do with ASIO buffersize:
i have the best performance with ASIO buffersize = 256, but only if plugin multiprocessing is disabled – performance indicator is always below 50% and cpu speed up to 3,44 GHz.
but if plugin multiprocessing is enabled with ASIO buffersize = 256 – performance indicator is always over 50% and goes flashing red and cpu speed up only to 1,2 GHz.
perhaps the total buffersize is to large for all cores?

ZynewaveKeymasterI gave answers in another topic, which I think applies here as well:

HermuParticipantHave you realy read this topic?
it’s another hardware and it’s realy painful that podium multicore has this bad performance, because i have bought podium to use this feature.
i have used all naming DAWs and with none of them i had ever a multicore performance problem.
i don’t know why podium has this bad performance, but have podium realy multicore support for actual CPU, like Intel I7 4770?
