Why is it that a plugin which is not set as a global plugin (and set as an insert) doesn’t have a way to open the plugins interface (doesn’t have an edit button)

I always wondered about that; or is there a way?

An insert plugin is only loaded into memory when assigned to a track and monitoring of the arrangement is activated. Deactivating monitoring will then unload the insert plugins. For each track that an insert plugin is assigned to, a separate instance will be loaded with its own editor window.

But that’s what I don’t find. When you load a plugin as global you get an edit button to get the plugins interface/controls. In insert mode i don’t find a way to actually open that plugin ….. The plugin is loaded and working but how do you acces its controls (knobs etc)

There should be an edit button in the track header, or the the little round button on the mixer strips. You can also press ‘E’ to open the editor for the plugin on the current track. What plugins are you having problems with?

hm, I finally got it to appear.

I always used plugins as global. but I noticed before that when they where set as insert the edit button was never there.

Now I checked the Freebees project to check and after I loaded that project the one I was trying got finally the possibility to edit too.

I don’t understand why now it’s there and all the time before whatever I tried it wouldn’t appear… but it seems working now.

Sorry for wasting your time 🙁

    Just to clarify:

The mapping objects shown in the browser window will never have the edit button on insert plugins. The edit buttons for insert plugins only appear on the tracks in an arrangement.
