Topic: Podium freezes

    Hi,

    Reminder : when I save some edition made in big sound files (at least 500 Mb), Podium freezes when I play the arrangement after. It doesn’t respond and the only way is to kill the task.
    It happends both when I save the sound from the editor window or when I Save all changes from the Project menu.

    It can be reproduced 80 % of the time and happend yet two years ago with my old P4 and continues with my current computers.
    Perhaps that it has something to do with http://www.zynewave.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9691 ?

    Thanks to take a look at this when you will have finished Nucleum.
    Editing with long projects and large files is really a pain…

    Is the sound file saved ok?

    Does the freeze happen even if you wait a long time after the save?

    Is it only arrangement playback that causes the freeze, or will other actions freeze as well?

    It seems, but I have not waited more than a few minutes…

    Is it only arrangement playback that causes the freeze, or will other actions freeze as well?

    Only when pressing the play button or turning the power off.

    In fact, it is not a real freeze since the task manager shows that Podium is active : it takes between 40 / 50 % CPU on my Core2Duo 2 GHz.
    But nothing can be done and the tasl manager says that it is not responding.
    Last time I have waited 15 minutes… and killed the task !

    I managed to reproduce the bug. Fixed in next 2.03 release.
