    March 2004, KVR monthly competition
    Theme: Islands

    My Entry: MyIsland

I can’t sing so well, but the impression is there (note to self: don’t transpose song to F# again..!)

It was exciting, no aux bussing, lots of bouncing, but got there in the end.

Someone voted it their #1, someone else #4, so that made 7 points – better than nowt!

OK then, here goes 😕 😉

After a few days, and much head-scratching, finally, a tune made entirely in Podium 0.90beta. Written in the course of trying to get my head around the Podium workflow, and hence probably not the most polished piece ever…but i’m happy with it, and enjoyed working with Podium greatly, kudos to Frits!

Audio tracks, automation, a few VSTI’s, all features present and correct – in fact i was throwing everything in just to find out how it worked….:)

I’ve completed a rather odd prog piece Fugitive.

I used Beta 0.95, with ZeBass, mda epiano, CheezeMachine, Loopazoid with my favourite custom kit, CM101, EVM Nylon, NuBi, some SH1-filter, JCM900, and a few Classic fx. Auxing was acheived via Tobybear‘s MixBox (in UtilBag) – I used two tracks as Aux busses, one with main vox ‘verb, and another handling drums/ synths verb.

How successful the track itself is can be debated, but I’m pleased with the outcome from the point of view of using Podium.

    There ya go!

    Hey:
I had a great time experimenting and learning with Podium during the Beta stage, and as a thanx for letting me take part, I made this track for you. Hope you enjoy it, and if you want to put it on your site as an example (not that it is necesarilly all that great) or use it for anything, I would be honoured. Do with it what you will. It is temporarilly hosted on my site, and you can stream it here: http://www.wusik.com/song.php?id=113&stream=y
or you can download it here: http://xenophonic.wusik.com/

    it is called Delta 777

    Thanx again

KVR Contest, June 2004, theme SciFi Theme…

    The Amoeba Variations

It was quite fun to do, and very easy. Made judicious use of the new VST automation support…

    Here’s another…

    Buff Envelope

The main figure is based around a repeating 11/16 | 11/16 | 10/16 form, which neatly ties up to make 8/4 for the other instruments.

    Enjoy

    Sept 04 KVR comp- Solo.

The rules were that you could use one sound source. I chose my voice, did one take of vocal and played with the aux bussing and a few fx.

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World

It includes a plug SVF² which I’m developing as part of the BetaBugs group, which accounts for the noise part way through. The Auxing was fun – Reverb, 2 Delays (long and short) and SVF²…

    My Boogaloo Bride

Mr. Ray, 4Front Bass, Loopazoid, 2x sfz for guitar parts, Synth1, EVM Strings, my poor vox..; 2 busses, one with Classic Reverb, one Classic Delay..

It’s some laid back funk, very simple, and an appreciation of my wife!

It’s gone down well on KVR.. look here!

    Enjoy!

My first official Podium release! I welcome all feedback, good, bad, or indifferent The only instrumentation used in this piece is Rob Papen’s Albino 2. In fact, there is no additional sound processing at all, everything is coming straight from the Albino 2. The sounds were all presets with the exception of the accent “Bell” sound that floats in the background.

A new tune-in-the-works with Podium as host and using EXT as a VSTi along with Microtonic and Camaleon5000.

    PODEXT

Not finished so don´t expect a clean mix and I will add a couple guitars. Actually I am not sure if I took it in the right direction 😉 but I just get carried away. Also I have a Champagne hangover from hell 👿
    Anyway. Comment if you please.
