I am new to DAW’s so I am probably doing something wrong. I am using Podium to record from a Behringer x32 via X-USB. As long as the usb cable is plugged in Podium works just fine, however, when it is unplugged and I open Podium, it will not fully open and an error message comes up “Zynewave Podium has stopped working” “A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available”. It does not give a solution and my only option is to close the program.

It might be the driver for the Behringer unit. Do you have ASIO4All? It’s a universal audio driver that solves a surprising number of problems. With that installed Podium may be able to use it as an alternative to the Behringer, which may be causing the glitch.

In case of your little “monster” I’m not sure if ASIO4ALL will be actually helpfull. You can try it. It’s the lowest cost at this point. But as far as I know it uses it’s own sound processing so everythings goes through the Behringer. At this point I recommend you to use another software to ensure it doesn’t affect on sound processing itself but only on Zynewave software. Try to use some trial software like for ex. Ableton Live or FL Studio. If this happens with other software then search for better (newer or older – all counts for better use) drivers for Behringer and then try again replug it on the Podium. But my hunch tells me you’ll probably drop using Zynewave Podium with the Behringer.

Hi Ben. It sounds like the Behringer driver is giving back an unexpected response to Podium when the device isn’t plugged in. If you are using Podium version 3.2.4 or newer, you can enable the generation of a debug log that can help me figure out why it crashes. Here’s the procedure:

    1. With the device plugged in, start up Podium and select the “Setup>Explore Setup Folder” menu to open a file explorer at the folder where Podium.ini is located.
    2. Close Podium.
    3. Open Podium.ini in a text editor, and add the line “DebugLog=1” (without the quotes) under the [Settings] group. Save Podium.ini.
    4. Unplug the Behringer device, and start Podium to provoke the crash.
    5. There should now be a “PodiumDebugLog.txt” file in the setup folder. Either email it to me or paste it in a post here.
