Which type of CPU is in your PC?Oops, although Nucleum appeared to load, I just got back to check the performance and its still loads with ‘a plugin has performed and illegal action’, and altho appearing in the track, its out of action. Any attempt to remove Nucleum causes immediate Podium hang.
AMD Athlon XP2400
As far as I know the XP processors only support SSE and not SSE2 instructions, so that must be the problem. In my assembler optimizations I must have entered some SSE2 opcodes. I’ll go search for those. I’ll PM you when I have a test version for you to try.
Nucleum 0.94 uploaded.
It was the assembler optimization of the chorus effect that had SSE2 exclusive instructions. This release should again work with older non-SSE2 processor PCs. I fired up my old PIII machine to verify it.

Yup, 0.94 working fine now. 🙂
My old AMDonkey needs an upgrade…..

CPU optimizations. I was tempted to experiment with assembler optimizations to see how much that could speed things up. I ended up replacing most of the code modules with optimized assembler modules. Depending on how complex the patch is, CPU usage is reduced by up to 30%.
While working on the assembler code I found a design flaw that affected oscillators that were being FM cross modulated. This is now fixed. As a result there may be a slightly different sound to some FM patches in this new version.
This version is built with the latest SM 1.1 RC1. Still not the final version.
Just confirming that with version 0.94, the performance gains were similar to what you mentioned on my P4 3.2GHz. For instance, a complex monophonic lead that was using 16.4-20.2% in version 0.91 used 12.9-15.6% when the same text file was loaded into 0.94.
Hi Frits,
Just wondering if that is Nucleum done? I’m pretty sure I saw something about SM 1.1 being released now and the guide looks like a case of first time perfect.
I also wanted to just add that I have been having a ball lately running two Nuclei in a group (playing the same or very similar parts) with additional tube, eq, filters etc. on the group track.
Top fun ….huge sounds. 8)
One other thing I wanted to raise was, given that it’s such a good SM implentation, are you planning to offer it to the SM Examples site? And, is there any use in sticking the made with SynthMaker logo on it?
I know they have their FL deal but this was part adventure, part promotion right?
Anyway, if Nucleum is done for the time-being, thanks yet again Frits for another wicked update. 😀

I’ve just uploaded v0.95. This is made with SM 1.1, and hopefully it’s the last beta version before 1.00. Only thing missing are presets for the default bank. Are there anyone besides rinxai, H-man and runagate who is working on presets they want to share?
The File menu in 0.95 is extended with an “Online Resources” submenu with links to the Nucleum guide on the wiki and the Nucleum forum. Since the link to zynewave.com is now in the Nucleum UI, I’ve removed the requirement of forum registration.

I’ll drop them an email when 1.00 is released. I don’t intend to stick a made with SynthMaker logo on the Nucleum UI.

I was working on them, but there’s been a slight delay since the computer I was doing so on seems to be suffering from either a major or heating issue and I’m writing this from one of the others in the graveyard (which is so loud that I need to use insulating headphones just to hear the music…)
Anyway, I’ll get back to contributing more meaningful information and presets once I have a properly configured computer up again… hopefully very soon!
Around version .91 most of the midi parameters were available for automation in Podium. Now the parameters are not showing up. Is there something I’m missing or will there be a fix?
thanks in advance

MIDI parameters or VST parameters?
All VST parameters are available for automation. When you import Nucleum in Podium, only the Pitch Bend and Modulation MIDI parameters are created. If you need further MIDI parameters, you can create them using the param panel menu in the inspector.
I meant the VST parameters, which used to show up in the Inspector parameter panel. Currently only level pan and send are visible, with no indication or method for creating VST parameters. I’ve checked this with older and new project, thinking it might be a project setting or similar, still no VST parameters.

Perhaps the VST parameters have been deleted. Open a list window and locate the “Devices/Zynewave – Nucleum” folder. There should be a VST Parameters subfolder. If it’s gone, then you can reimport the plugin in a new project, copy the “VST Parameters” folder from there, and paste it back into your older projects.
Thanks, yes VST parameters were deleted. 🙂
Here’s a track done using Nucleum and Podium, with some midi arpeg provided by arp4midi which was placed in EnergyXT. All sounds including drums are Nucleum. The track is mainly a demo for Nucleum
The only audio effects used are Nucleums’ and zEQ and Zreverb. The mix level might be bit low.
7mb vbr mp3.

Very nice!
I’ve created a “Nucleum Music” topic in this forum. I would appreciate if you could write a copy of your post in that topic.
@H-man: I would also appreciate if you could add a post about the demo you posted earlier in this topic.
Rinxai that is fantastic 😯 😀
Designed all the patches too no doubt. Seems like you got the drums in order as well 🙂
Now, honestly who has a demo like that!? One could be mistaken for thinking they were on the Native Instruments demo page.
Sooooo …what now is Nucleum? 100 or so people signed up to get it, little to moderate intrest on KVR and largely if not unanimously ‘shunned’ by the Pods (yep ….got mah contraversy hat on 😛 ).
…this seems crazy when you think about how well Frits has done with it 😕
Are soft synths just too hard?
eg.CM Masterclass: Take a sample out of Kontact, put a bit of compression on it …and give it a bit of eq,
Take another sample out of Kontact, put a bit of compression on it …and give it a bit of eq,
Anyway, as you can guess, I love it, (it’s now in everything I do), as surely Rixnai does too.
Well done man …really nice work 😀
