Possibly a lot of people who visit KVR are all for general purpose things but people who come here are for Podium, and so many perhaps are more interested in Podium as a host and already have the synths we want to use.

This is just supposition, of course. 🙂

Wasn’t sure whether this was worth reporting, but I’ve recently found it is fully reproducible in this particular host. In Xlutop Chainer 1.03 I’ve found that when I bypass Nucleum Beta 0.95 while a note is still depressed, that it will stick when it comes back on and stay on even if I use the “All Notes Off” command. Manually playing the note again still turns it off, however.

The behavior does not extend Jeskola Buzz and I will test Sonar 7PE soon. Is anybody experiencing this in other hosts as well?

nucleum is a great sounding synth – one of the best examples of a synth maker one i have come across. i fully intend to program some presets and write an all nucleum tune. in fact i’m going to make it my next project i think… 😀 would be great to have it bundled with podium along with a killer demo using podiums eq and reverb

I’ve added a line to the instructions on the wiki page, which I suspect explains why you can’t edit the page:

“Click the Login button at the top left corner and type your forum username and password.”

just uploaded the bank – there are 20 patches now, made 5 more this morning. any feedback would be appreciated – this is my first proper attempt at creating patches from scratch. i will probably carry on and program a full 128 patches and organise them properly (they are not very well organised presently!).

hope someone finds them useful… 😀

    Hi Bladerunner,

Great work! The basses are really powerful and I love the Moon Unit (is that the right name??) pad.

Actually all the Pads are really good.

For fun, try putting an ocsilloscope like this one (see link) as an insert effect on Nucleum so that you can watch the interesting way in which FM changes the waveform.

PS: I have no connection to the Dev, I just think this is by far the best freebie ocilloscope out there.

    hi H-man,

thanks for the kind words 😀

Moon Orbit is the name of that pad, kind of an old school 70’s sounding pad. i’m very influenced by tangerine dream, jarre, vangelis etc. so consequently quite a lot of my presets will probably end up sounding like that! also hence why i like to make some of them just 3 voice polyphony for that authentic way the release is cut off when a new chord is played. glad you like them.

the quality of the oscillators are very good on this synth – its capable of some very rich sounds i think. when i get some spare time i will make some more. i will check out the osilloscope too – sounds interesting

Man, things sure have gotten quiet. 🙂

    Just wanted to mention that:
    1) Zynewave Nucleum has been sounding great.

    2) In the current incarnation, the track “The Well” uses Nucluem as the only synth on the track (plus additional drums) and will be appearing later this year on my album “Liquid”.

    3) If, by any chance, there is some way to optimize Nucleum to use less CPU, that would be awesome. For “The Well” I had to bounce tracks, one at a time, in order to record them without CPU overload. My CPU is far from bleeding edge, but I’d like to be able to use Nucleum more before I upgrade. 🙂

    Hi Per,

Wicked. I look forward to hearing your Nucluem based track. Pls keep us informed about it’s release. Heck I’ll keep an eye on the Billboard charts!

I know what you are saying about the performance issue but I find I’m bouncing everything nowadays anyway. Blue, FilterScape, RMV …they all eat up the available CPU once there are a few effects on them.

Personally I have learned to live with this and I find that the Bounce track feature in Podium is fast and easy. Also it really makes you think about the sounds rather than relying on endless tweaking.

Just my opinion …if you could have everything real-time and dynamic you would right 🙂

I’m crazy busy right now with my day job but I’m still thinking about a little collaboration to craft a (an optional) default tune using soley Nucleum and built-in effects.

Rix?, Blade? ….Frits on accoustic guitar! Anyone interested????

hi h-man 🙂 i’m always up for a collaboration so fire any ideas this way. i record as boc scadet – heres my myspace page to give you an idea of the kind of stuff i do http://www.myspace.com/bocscadet (although the tracks there are pretty old now).

when i find time (3rd year of my music tech degree this year) i am going to continue with the nucleum presets, hopefully soon…

    Cool cool,

In just a heading off on holiday for a week or so (Glee 😀 …going to Central Australia).

A good time to ponder some ideas. I’ll chime in when I get back.

    Ben
