This is not a Podium problem but I try get some info here.

Since a few days I get a message in podium that the usb keystation is not present (or could not be found). Strange because it’s attached and it was never detached or anything I did. The lcd lights are lid.
Now I started checking in cubase and eXT and the same problem there >> no usb keyboard.

After searching around on the m-audio knowledge base I checked my device management and it should be in the list of sound, videos and games but… no keystation.

I tried everything, deleted every possible registry of the keystation and reinstalling the drivers but nothing.
I deleted my usb-controllers in the device list. after rebooting for every device I was getting the yellow message that new hardware was found for my external dvdwriter, wireless keyboard, xskey, tablet but nothing for the keystation.

I tried on an other pc and a laptop but they keep silent >>> no message new hardware was found

If I install de driver normally it proceeds when i plugin the keystation with the new hardware found message and from there the driver installer puts everything in place >>> but that doesn’t happen. it installs the temporary files but when I plug-in the keystation notting happens.

one observation is that when i plug in my controller the lcd sceend is lid,
the other observation is that in one or the other way it is not evocing anything from windows xp.

So how can I check that it is in one or the other way recognized or not recognized by windows. My thought now is that there is some defect in the keystation. but it seems to work because it does the normal proceedings when you plug it in >>> numbers changes on the lcd

The cabel is ok because I connected an usb midi interface with it and got the message new hardware found.

I’m waiting for some responce from m-audio but that will take weeks … if any response and the shop where I bought is is closed for a few weeks.

Is there a way, some probe or program for checking usb devices to be sure that the keystation is notices by windows or some program that can search for a problem with an attached device. It is powered on via the usb port so that is working

    The Frustrated
    Thanks

Could be the USB-chip firmware in the keystation that is corrupted. The rest of the keystation circuits (LED’s etc.) is probably powered directly from the USB plug.

I don’t have any experience with keystations, but:
I would keep the device manager control panel open when plugging the keystation in, to see if there is any response. If it is not recognized as a sound, videos and games kind of device, then it should pop up as an unknown device. If not, my guess is likewise that the keystation is defect.
