    …and possibly all non-english characters.

I’m not asking for solving this problem right now. I know (and we all know) that there’s a lot of work for Frits for this year. It’s just a report, so it may help in a future.
The problem is that Podium displays russians symbols wrong everywhere – samples with russian names in list window, tracks labeled in russian etc.

I can live with it. But this may be interesting for the future development.

unicode is a swine to get right at the best of times.. You code something one way, then suddenly a little-endian font comes along…

The best essay I ever read on unicode was here. While anyone is there, I strongly suggest checking some of his other articles out, especially if you do management, startups ar programming. Joel Spoelsky worked for M$ on Excel 5, did a number of other jobs, then setup his own firm FogCreek, which is remarkably successful in it’s arena. His is opinionated in a good way, and writes some of the most engaging techy articles out there 🙂

I read that article a few weeks ago. If only all tech articles could be this entertaining.

Localization of Podium is on the list. It will be a big task to implement, but it will become important when Podium gains a bigger crowd.

The same idea came to my mind so I decided to make a report. I didn’t know it’s a known problem, because I didn’t find anything about unicode support in the “future plan” topic. Sorry for stealing your time.
