I recently picked up Podium from Computer Music magazine and so far I love it. I have previously been a Reason user and have unsuccesfully fiddled with Samplitude but Podium seems a lot easier, especially with MIDI items.

However as a Reason user this interface is very different so I have a couple of questions!

    1. Can I rewire the reason instruments/ Effects into Podium?

    2. I have written some MIDI files, but as my Xiosynth is monotimbral I need to convert them to Audio so I can use its sounds on other parts? Is there an automatic way of doing this? So far I have been pressing play and record on another Audio track but this seems a bit awkward.

    3. What is the basic idea behind the Hierachy system?

Sorry if I sound really stupid but i’m a little lost and I really want to understand this program! 😕

    Hi,

1: No. Rewire is on the plan, but I have no estimate on when Podium will support it.

2: The simplest way is to create bounce tracks for each MIDI track you want to use with the Xiosynth, and then do realtime bounce recording of one track at the time.

Be sure to check out the video tutorials in the wiki (and the slightly older videos on the about page). They give a good insight in how the hierarchy works.
