I’ve only played with Podium one evening and haven’t worked out all functions but I feel that this program has got lots of potential. I just wanted to say that!

I’ve never been satisfied with other sequencers user interface, especially not the big ones, Cubase and Logic. Tracktion is really too cluttered but I haven’t played with it so much. EnergyXT is okay but I can’t imagine it being used as my main sequencer. The only sequencer I think has a well thought out user interface is Ableton Live. And it’s great for what it does, but it doesn’t have sufficient midi capabilities (no VSTi and no MIDI out). Podium could be the one for me…

When browsing through different forums all I’ve seen is people whining about the difficulty of the workflow and interface of Podium – from what I’ve experienced so far I think the total opposite! Stick to your vision, Frits… I’m sure this sequencer is gonna be great. 🙂

I only have one question so far – is it impossible to create send tracks (or “FX channels” as in Cubase)? If so, is this going to be implemented in version 1.0?

Now I’m gonna go back to beta-test it some more… :)[/i]

The traditional Aux/Bus/Send mechanism is not yet implemented. It is on the plan, but it won’t be ready the first month or two. When it is available it will be a free upgrade. To some extent you can use group tracks to e.g. send multiple tracks into one reverb, but it won’t allow setting an individual wet/dry for each track. Another option is to use some of the available send plugins, like Tobybears MixBox. Duncan has used it and wrote a little about it here.
