    Hi Frits,

    I still have serious problems with NI Kontakt (v5.2.1).
    Kontakt try to load samples and crashes : Podium message: “The plugin has performed an ilegal action and has been disabled”
    Could you to try to solve this problem as a priority ? It is no longer possible to deal with Podium.
    What is the status of your research on this problem?

    I have Kontakt 4.2.4 full, and recently updated Kontakt Player to the latest 5.3.0 version. Is it possible for you to update to 5.3.0 so you can confirm that the issue is still present with the latest version?

    I’m probably going to upgrade my Kontakt full version to 5, with the 50% deal that NI announced today. I’m going to spend much of December working with Kontakt. Before that I’m going to release a minor Podium update with various fixes.

    I’ve updated to v5.3.0 but i don’t think the version will change the problem.
    (problem has been reported since July 2012)

    Apparently, Podium crashes more often when we mix Kontakt with 32-bit plugins in a same arrangement, but also sometimes when there is only Kontakt.

    The most recurrent problem : I save an arrangement with Kontakt (no problem) and i close Podium.
    I open Podium and the arrangement. Kontakt loaded the patches and Podium message: “The plugin has performed an ilegal action and has been disabled”.

    No problem with Kontakt stand alone.

    Podium even crashes with Kontakt 5.3.0. Always the same problem (..ilegal action …
    memory corruption …). Only 64 bits plugins.
    I’m tired. Impossible to work.

    I have always the problem. One times, it’s ok. One times, it bugs !
    It’s unbearable. It’s been over a year since the problem is identified.
    Frits, for months you tell me you’re going to solve the problem …
    Not serious.

    I am sorry about the delay. I started a major revision of the plugin loading system, which I believe will fix the problem you see with Kontakt. In the process of this work, I’ve updated my developer tools and I’ve begun to take advantage of recent enhancements to the C++ programming language. This has made me extend the scope of my revisions for the next release. On top of that, I’ve been hired to work on another software project for the last couple of months, which will help fund my future development of Podium.

    J’utilise kontakt 5.4.1.211 et j’ai aucun problèmes je charges plusieurs banques et je monte jusqu’à 3giga des fois.
    Je suis sous win 7 64 bit en intel i5 4giga de ram et une carte Prodipe studio 88.
    Il me seblaient avoir déjà des erreurs comme ca avec kontakt dans tracktion c’était du au pilote graphique Oo (d’où l’aleatoire quand tu click peut etre?).
    En tout cas je pense que y dois y avoir un truc de ton coté sinon je lance toujours tracktion en admin…

    Hi,
    you have certainly experienced a thousand other solutions, however in the forum of NI website I found this:

    I can only suggest to try to use the 32-bit plugin or load Kontakt within a sub-host (like Wusik VM). It’s just an idea and it does not solve your problem permanently. 🙁

    With 3.2.5, no problems with Kontakt or always ? (Windows 7 Pro 64 bits – Kontakt 64 bits)

    Hi Mickaël,
    I have not completed my revision of the plugin load system, so I don’t expect the issues with Kontakt have been solved. Once I do feel I have fixed the stability issues with Kontakt I will mention it in the release notes. I have just returned to Podium development after a longer period where I’ve been involved with other projects, so I’m going to start out by tackling some of the smaller features I have on my list.
