    Hi

    In the note editor (pianoroll) it would be better that if you go to the velocities with the mouse the tool is automatic switched to a pencil. (there is nothing else you can do there). If you have to highlight some notes to change their velocities it is a lot of tool switching

    I think a tool/contextual menu swithing -like blender or maya (3d) are using- would be very helpfull. In blender for example you get when pressing spacebar a kind of toolbar with all the available menus/tools etc.

    In podium, if you for example press some key in the arrange you would get a bar where you could acces file, edit, midi, audio etc related and a toolbox at mouse-cursor position.

    This is the contextual menu acces in blender. You get always a main bar with all the menus and tools add mouse position. this gives a very fast acces (even faster as keystrokes)

    Just a tought

    If you use the Rearrange tool, then it is automatically transformed into a pencil tool when mousemoving in the velocity region. Or do you mean something else?

    Interesting idea with the menu bar. I’ll think about it.

    you’re right, I rarely use the rearange tool in the pianoroll.. I was constantly changing between select tool and pencil for velocities.
    >> can you do the same for the select tool; the rearange tool is prone to move notes when you just want to highlight them.

    I would say “One Tool for All” if it was possible.

    Thanks

    can you do the same for the select tool;

    Yes, I’ll do that. I had avoided this, as I wanted to keep the select tool a ‘non-destructive’ tool, but as you said, there are no point in using select tools in the velocity region.
