Would it be possible to increase the ‘depth’ of the track hierarchy? It currently allows for ten levels, but I’m often finding this is too few – a couple of group tracks, a few insert effects, some mastering effects, some param automation, it all adds up!

I imagine upping this limit to say 20 or so wouldn’t be a huge thing to change? Ideally, it would be great if the track tree had an unlimited depth because I’m sure that, no matter how many levels you have, someone’ll soon hit that limit.

The maximum group level limit is a UI restriction only. I’ll increase it just slightly. I would like to keep a max limit, to avoid abuse. It e.g. affects how the mouse behaves when you drag a track to set the group level.

When I get around to implementing device wrapper mappings, there will be less need for creating deep multiple nested plugin tracks.

Device wrapper mappings? So, does this mean you’ll be able to effectively encapsulate entire branches on the tree and map them to a single node? If this is the case, that sounds excellent!

That’s the idea. But I need to consider carefully how to design this. I have no estimate on when I will start experimenting with it.
