Topic: Using BCR-2000 with podium?

    Is it doable, and if so, how would one go about setting up a remote control device in podium?

    I’m going to buy this product ( http://www.behringer.com/BCR2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG ) and ofcourse I want to use it with podium 🙂

    Yeah, I’ve also been wanting one of those for a while, although I would personally go for the one with faders and knobs 8)

    There is currently no support for remote controlling the Podium mixer, but it is on the plan.

    Well, I guess it can sort of be done, although a dedicated support for remote control will make it a lot easier. If a plugin supports MIDI controllers, and if the remote controller has been set up with a template for these parameters, then you can control your plugins if you create an input mapping for the BCR2000 and assign it to the track with the plugin. Controlling native VST parameters is not possible currently.

    Although, I don’t think the plugins should need to support midi automation to be remote controlled. They expose all their vst parameters to the host, so it should be enough that the host supports remote controllers, right? I’m not sure how it’s handled within cubase, but I know it’s very flexible atleast 🙂

    Right. That will be possible when I implement dedicated support for remote controllers.

    if you mean midi keyboard that would work when podium gets a generic remote control support.
