Imagine you create a track which from its definition is for MIDI data only.
Does Podium allow to insert VST-plugins into it?

I don’t understand. Could you describe what you want to do in more detail?

interesting question. my first thought is you can’t add a vst effect to a midi track until it is rendered to audio. but………i have never tried!

I might be wrong on this but currently you cannot use a VSTi that outputs midi data within Podium. You can do this externally though using something like minihost that outputs midi data and then use the output as a midi input into Podium.
Now to flip the question if the VSTi outputs audio then you can add any vst effects you want along the chain. It does not have to be rendered/bounced first.

The VST-plugin should process MIDI only, not audio.
It should be one of those which “read and write” MIDI data.

Ok, this is on the plan. Currently you cannot use MIDI-only VST plugins.
