Could you help me please : Is it possible to assign a parameter of a VSTi to a Midi control Change in Podium ?

In the Inspector select “Param”, from there click the small arrow next to “Device” for the drop-down menu -> “New MIDI Parameter” and there you have it.

    All the Best

Thank you Pulse but I have not explained well.
In the Vsti, it’s not possible to assign a midi CC to a parameter.
But all VSTi parameters are automatable. I can change a parameter by the “mixer” or “Editor” but i would change it by a midi CC.

Aaah, I see now. OK. Well, this really intrigued me and just until now I’ve been trying to assign, say Osc3 Mix to CC80 for example and it doesn’t work. So this is basically in the MIDI realm, and Podium is unfortunately lacking in this department. Initially I thought it could be done through the Parameter Properties dialog of the CC and assign it to a plugin param, but the box is grayed out, then tried drag-and drop directly onto the desired automation lane but didn’t work either, so…internally it doesn’t seem to be possible, or I am overlooking something.

On the other hand if your plugin has a MIDI Learn feature it is possible. Just tried it with Oatmeal and DuneCM and was able to assign Cutoff to CC119 without any problems.

Or alternatively you could try a virtual MIDI cable + some midi plugins that can assign MIDI CC to a plugin parameter (there must be some).

This reminds me of an old request of mine about Global Learn feature in Podium.

    Thank you very much Pulse.
No Midi Learn function on the VSTi and not possible to assign a midi CC to a parameter.
    All VSTi parameters are automatable.
But with the “Mixer” or “edit Mode”, it is not practical. I want to change a parameter while I play in real time.

    Help Frits 🙂

Sorry, but currently Podium cannot map MIDI control changes to VST plugin parameters. The VST plugin needs to support this internally. It is on my plan, and the way Pulse described how he tried to do it, is how I imagined it could be implemented.

Frits thank you for your answer.
If this feature can be implemented, it would be very useful because many vst no support this internally.
