Topic: Won't record full track, bits missing and strange stuttering effect. Help!

    Hi

    I am trying to record some piano pieces with Podium Free. On most of the slower, simpler pieces Podium it has so far worked fine but recently I tried a faster piece with lots of arpeggios (Debussy’s Arabesque) and I found on playback that bits of the performance had been missed, as though Podium had been unable to keep up. Sometimes there is a weird stuttering effect too.

    I am recording from a Kronos keyboard via 1/4inch jack to a Alesis USB unit.

    I have tried turning down the gain (so there is less information going in),and reducing the sample rate but these things haven’t been effective.

    Any ideas would be gratefully received.

    It should not stutter or slow down like that, unless perhaps there’s a MIDI loop issue.

    On the audio side, the critical settings will be the Audio driver/ASIO interface settings in Audio/MIDI. See Podium Guide 7.2. Audio/MIDI

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

    I’m recording audio rather than midi, so I don’t think that’s the problem.
    It only started recently, my first half dozen tracks were fine. Now it even does it on pieces with few notes in them.

    I get two minutes in and everything is perfect and then it suddenly it looses a second or two of sound.
