Thanks for the info about the Cockos forum, Tele. I’ve got an account over there and have read a couple good threads that they have 😕 . One thing that I do love is how that REAPER will allow you to fade multiple clips at the same time across different tracks.. 🙄

    🙂

So, soon you will be to able carry a wallet that is full of plastic cards, and you will be entitled to accumulate thousands of dollars in debt, just like my own sons. When I used to teach guitar I used to caution the many younger students not to be in too big of a hurry to grow up. Not that it ever did any good, but they were always saying to me, I can’t wait until I’m old enough to _____ (insert your own here).

Haha.. 🙂 That one made me smile – my dad has been one who has warned me a lot concerning debt; if it weren’t for the modern age he probably would have never got a credit card! It’s a slippery slope to go down and you can get there fast, stay there forever. 🙂 Should be learning how to drive this summer, though, on a positive note!

In case I become too busy in the next few days, let me take this moment to wish you a Happy Birthday! now. What a world to come of age in today!

    Cheers!

Thanks, Tele. 😉 God bless to you and yours… Send me a PM with your name and I’ll find you in FB. Haha. You can get more updates there. New album should be coming out digitally soon. Still getting album artwork ready! Ha ha…

Yes, Tele. 🙂 Am fully aware of the overdue. I’ll be 18 in 4 days, which means I’ll be able to get a PayPal account and pay the debt. (Can’t get one under 18). 😀

Thanks, Levendis. I will be trying this out ASAP. 😀 🙂 Thanks for caring! 🙂 I’ve learned a couple cute things in Podium myself – I’ll be sure to try to help others here soon…

    🙂 Thanks, Tele.

I think you’ve got me hung on the Reaper trial (I’m on day 151 – be quiet now). HA HA. One thing I did notice about Reaper is that the workflow is a wee bit confusing, but not as bad as Ableton Live, of which I have a Lite version. I’ve never figured it out – I’m not as savvy as some.

I don’t think I have ever had Reaper black out, though once when a plugin crashed Windows successfully shut down the plugin window without killing Reaper along with it. I’ve had a good time with Reaper – recorded up to 21 tracks on a single song.

Back to Podium now (as this is the Podium forum) – The ability to customize the workflow is GREAT – I mean, 🙂 especially that feature where you can adjust the size of the tracks in the mixer area, rather than having to scroll horizontally to get to them all…

Ha ha. Alright – I’m sticking with it, adimatis 😀 🙂
You’ve converted me to the wait-and-see position. I won’t buy in just yet but my hopes are up higher than this morning! Ha ha.

I do not think Podium is at all dead. The best example is Wavosaur – the forum dead like really dead, not like this forum which is still breathing, no updates, everyone was sure Wavosaur is gone. Yet, out of blue, after about three years, the updates started to be available again, bring in many improvements.

I can go for that 🙂 I do believe that the guy that put this together is a real pro – and to do it while being a “all-alone-guy” is pretty great.

As for some of the non-existent features however, actually I’ve never used time-stretching, and I’ve read some threads on this forum that really are not “me” so-to-speak, in that I don’t have need for some of the features.

Hehe, it’s quite remarkable, this “Give me more for free or I’ll take my business elsewhere” attitude..

What do you say, I’ll hire you for free and then complain when you not work hard enough?

You don’t have to kill me for what I said. You also don’t have to put words in my mouth that I didn’t say. I’m simply a beginner that had my share. Tell me you haven’t experienced DAW stress before. This is simply my experience in trying a free product which I have used extensively, and have effectively recorded more than 12-track songs on.

I’m just looking for some advice, Slomo, if you, being on a higher plane than I am don’t have any to give – just pass on. You don’t have to axe me for it.

🙂 I must say that I’ve have had a number of problems since I started. It’s not that I’m ungrateful; it’s that I have been a beginner, and things like this are a) things that I don’t know how to solve, or
    b) things that I feel like I don’t know how to ask anywhere else but here (it’s the Podium forum anyways 😉 ) .

There are times where the only person you think you can help is youself – since my knowledge level has been low in this area. I’ve appreciated your feedback here – one of the guys I still remember is Telenator (I think he’s still around).. Ha ha.

I also had to “outsource” and use other DAWs while editing with Podium, but it didn’t bother me as much – I didn’t include it in my list. 🙂 But like I said, I haven’t “bought it” to anything as of yet – if I see just one of these my problems fixed I’ll be on my way almost assuredly to keep and use Podium forever. 🙂

Okay… Let’s see.. I know that multiprocessing is available on Podium… So, the crashes would be gone. I’d bet the plugin problems would be gone too. 8)

As to the lack of multiprocessing – well, this IS the limitation you know. In all fairness Podium free is the most generous DAW out there, (go and try those track-limited free DAWs with their 4 or 8 tracks and 4-5 vsts per project – completely useless) so this criticism is a bit unfair.

    Quote:
I love the unlimited tracks, of which I have used without hesitation (Reaper by Cockos I believe has the same feature). Also very impressive is the small footprint of the program itself. The lack of multiprocessing stings me good, but I could avoid the problem by applying plugins physically through another DAW.

Yeah, that happened to me once. As we are in the Philippine Islands, brownouts happen routinely. When the power went off my UPS was beeping, so I tried to quickly save the project file that I was working on and shut the computer off. When the power came back on my file was corrupted and could not be opened by Podium… Probably had the program shut off before it could actually finish the “saving” process. Anyhow.. =) That was a couple hours of edits.. 😡 😡

I still have the problem, guys.. 😀

Everything works like a charm except for those few Focusrite plugins. They work on every other DAW I’ve tried them on. Any help?

Guys, I’m not talking about Podium Free hanging up – but rather Podium Demo when in 32-bit. Podium Free doesn’t hang up; and Podium Demo will even without any plugins selected on any track.

Yes, I have done that. 😀 Like I said it hangs up for a few seconds and doesn’t respond to the command.

Ok, I have my guitar in hand now and I installed the 32-bit version of Podium Demo (for others viewing this page – I’m on 64-bit Windows 7). All of my plugins work fine – besides one problem:

I can’t record. When I arm the tracks, press the record-ready key, and try to “play”. I just sits there. I try again, and it hangs for a about 5 seconds, meters and everything, and then it goes right back to where I started.

Why can’t I record on the only Podium release so far that accepts my plugins? I’ve tried different ASIO drivers, sample rates, but to no avail. Haven’t experienced this in any other DAW.
