Yeah, that is a good point. I do use loops here and there to augment arrangements (ones I’ve made as well as purchased loops). I’m just against podium getting too bloated…(and can use Acid/Live for stretching stuff).

Not that I don’t want new features!!! It’s just that time-stretching is at the bottom of my list. And I don’t think there’s any reason to make podium into a clone of other DAW’s out there. It would be better to add features that no other DAW’s have!!!

    Thanks!

Many things sold me on Podium: stability, automation curve editing (the best i’ve EVER see), and the hierarchic tracks/grouping.

I also like the various views available, my favorite being the one where I can see the mixer, midi clips, piano roll, and automation editor all at the same time….and at the same time, if I need to get a closer look at the piano roll, just a double-click on a midi clip brings up a piano roll window. Long story short, I like the workflow in Podium.

I also like the fact that Frits is VERY accessible, fixes every bug that comes along quickly (not that I’ve found any yet), and takes users’ feature suggestions to heart.

All this for the low, low price of $90…can’t be beat!!!

I’ve never had much luck with ReWire, so this ain’t in my top 10 list of feature requests..even with a relatively powerful machine (2GHZ pentium-M, 1 gig ram) I can’t avoid CPU overrun and just general instability.

    Until I can afford to buy a quad-cpu computer, I won’t (can’t) be using ReWire….

why not just stretch your audio in acid and then import into podium? for those that don’t have Acid Pro, Acid Xpress is free.

There are tons of loop-based DAWs out there…I don’t think adding every feature from every other DAW to podium is a good idea. The more bloated it becomes, the less stable/respsonsive/efficient it will become.

For me, Podium is a tool for creating original music, not producing tunes with loops…again, that’s in the arena of acid, live, etc…and again, you can use those tools to do your stretching work, then import into Podium anyway…

By the way, I just purchased Podium…any chance of getting the download link soon? (Since you’re obviously awake and online). I’m dying to get cracking on some tunes!

    No worries if not…just anxious!

    Thanks again,
