When you record-enable a track, Podium will record any output from the plugin assigned on the track. That includes both MIDI note outputs, as well as parameter automation done by dragging knobs in the editor. Discovery apparently outputs the same MIDI notes that it receives from Podium. There must be an option somewhere in Discovery that can disable this behaviour.

That is what i thought also.

I will contact George about it and maybe he has an idea on how to fix this since there is no option to turn it off.

I was thinking more about how you would want to activate and configure the input quantization. Should it be an option in the input mapping properties, a track option, or a global option somewhere?

Bear in mind that the snap setting you set in the edit toolbar is linked to the editor and not the track/sequence. You can have different editors with different snap values, so you can’t really use that setting for the input quantization. The on/off option for the input quantization should probably be accompanied by a dedicated quantize value setting.

    Ahh i see 😀
A global one would be nice since different settings on each track would be confusing on a big project.

So maybe add a IQ button on the Transport after the punch in/out option followed by a Quantize menu after that button.

Then you will always see what the snap setting is and if it is enabled or not.

    😀

Thx DFusion, it’s a bit limited this option because I would like use custom lenghts, but I think that I’ll survive 😛

I want do something like to FL Studio piano roll with alt+drag.

    Thanks!

Yes i understand well what you want to do 😀
I was just giving you a workaround until Frits implement this function 8)

What you can do is to select the notes you want to resize and right click in the piano roll and select “Set duration”.

But remember to set the note lenght in the snap list first.

But i can’t figure out how to setup midi input quantize in Podium so that it does Quantize on the fly when i record.

    Is this possible in Podium?

That’s currently not implemented. For future reference: How would you prefer this to work?

    Hi 😀
Glad i am not blind he-he.

When i think of input quantize it should work so that when you record some notes it would automatically quantize start and end times from the selected quantize snap setting.

But if you hold it over that ammount it should extend it to the next snap end point 😀

This makes it much faster to play real time when you have some ideas in your head.

I also miss a option to Quantize start and end of the selected notes at snap setting with one click.

    Thanks for listening.

Hello DFusion, I’m new here. I’d like help you, but I’m learning podium now. If I read something about input quantize I’ll post here 😉

    Aha! I didn’t realise this.

I would dearly like to see mapping parameters to CC, so I can use a MIDI controller to control. 😛

    I agree 😀

I have a Roland PCR-M50 and would love a easy midi learn feature in Podium so i can use my knobs and sliders to control vst synths and effects.

Like twiddle a knob on the vst and then click ctrl-l and move a knob on my PCR-M50 8)
