OK, fair enough Frits. No problem.
Mart.
‘Recently opened projects’ already exists on the project wizard (ctrl+w), but I agree that it would be better under the file menu.

Note to self: I must remember to recognize the great customer support @zynewave. So here goes:
Thanks Frits, for helping me find a way through this tricky little problem 😀
Mart.
Right – I uninstalled the current version and went back to 1.31 and there is a marked improvement in shut down time – down to 5-6 secs – but having read in your post that shut down should be almost instantaneous I decided to investigate further, so I had a poke around in the task manager, looking at the running processes. I noticed that sometimes Podium was shown to be still running as a process even though the app window had closed. Anyway, after a bit of trial error I found that when I shut down SpyBot, which I usually have running in the background (system-tray) I can get Podium to shut down in 1-2 seconds 😀
Subsequently I have reinstalled 1.34 and everything is fine 8)
I’m afraid I don’t know enough about the finer details of the inner workings of XP but SpyBot (specifically the ‘teatimer.exe’ background process) seems to be causing some sort of conflict.
Mart.
Are there any other situations where Podium is slower than usual?
Are there any other applications on your PC that takes this long to quit?
Podium is very well behaved otherwise 🙂 but I haven’t had this problem with any other apps.
I’m very careful when it comes to keeping my PC virus and spyware free, but I suppose you can never discount these things. I’ll try reverting to 1.31 to see what happens.
Mart.
Edit: I just had a look and I no longer have a copy of 1.31 – can you link me to a copy Frits?
OK, I tried both your suggestions and another one in the link you posted and still no joy. I don’t recall any changes to my system that coincided with the installation of 1.32 either.
Mart.
Does the Podium window stay open during the 15 seconds?
Yes.
Is that a hyperthread edition? And if so, is hyperthreading enabled/disabled in the BIOS?
Yes – and hyperthreading is enabled.

So, even if your current project is completely blank, Podium is still taking 15 seconds to quit? 😯
Yes…I tried unselecting all audio/midi interfaces and still no difference.
Specs are:
WinXP Home SP1
P4 3ghz
512mb ram
Terratec EWX 24/96
Mart.
Just to see if I understood you right: With the exact same project file loaded, v1.31 took 4 seconds and v1.32 took 15 seconds to quit?
Correct.
Does it take equally long if you use the ‘new project’ menu?
Yes. It makes no difference if I start a new project or when any other project is loaded.

I read somewhere on KVR that the group-buy offer precludes UK buyers anyway – something to do with the UK distributors 🙄 . I may have been interested otherwise.
Mart.
OK, thanks Frits.

Hold down CTRL when selecting, this will hold your selexions, then drag (holding ctrl down when dropping to do linked clips)
‘fraid not Duncan – When I ctrl-click on a param-event, it sends the selected param-event to the zero position at the bottom of the curve-editor. I’ve trawled the guide and I don’t think it’s possible to do what I want…yet.
Mart.
Thanks for pointing that out – It passed me by, I must admit. Anyway –
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PODIUM and MANY HAPPY RETURNS
It’s been a great year. 😀
Mart.
Is that a bit over the top?

The presets need to be associated with a device assigned to a track, so dropping the preset on the time ruler, is ruled out.
Oh… I just thought that if you could drop presets on the sequence editor time-ruler of a track with a device already assigned it might work. But if you say it won’t work Frits, then I’ll just shut up.. 😉 😆
