Actually, when I do it, it’s because I have an old accompaniment piano track that I didn’t think warranted a larger file when I created it. A lot of times, I record choir parts over those original tracks.
At the moment, I end up converting the mp3 in another program before I pull it into Podium.
What about support for mp3, ogg, and other common formats (both import and export)? I suspect the first thing a lot of new users try to do is open an mp3 in Podium, only to discover they can’t.
Mein Deutsch hat nicht gut, aber ich werde dich zu helfen versuchen.
Took German in high school, but that was more than a decade ago… π
Very informative thread on zReverb’s development.
Let me ask a slightly different question. If I look at the reverbs out there, options are all over the map, ranging from relatively cheap to convolution reverbs that claim to reproduce rooms exactly to the TC Electronic Reverb 4000 that comes in at about $3,000.
Where does zReverb fit in? Is it a pro quality reverb?
As a side question, is a convolution style reverb actually superior to a more traditional design? I have my doubts that it is.
Incidentally, I think zReverb is great, but my opinion on this probably isn’t worth the sentence I used up to write it. π
I had tried it with GPO too, and that didn’t work either. Very peculiar. I wonder if it has to do with my keyboard using the full range of the pedal rather than being a simple on/off switch.
Enabling the “record as curve sequence on separate track” option fixed it. I’ll go buy the program now. π
Thanks Frits.
Yes, the sustain affects the sound until I try to play back the recording. I haven’t tried the other parameters yet.
I’ll be home in a couple hours and will check your latest suggestion then.
Not exactly. Typically, when I record vocalists, they do multiple takes but only in certain sections.
Ideologically, it means that when I record something, the presumption is always that the take before isn’t actually being erased, but that an alternate take is being recorded. The previous recording(s) is(are) always still available unless I specifically delete it(them).
I think your loop solution is probably fine. Just give me some time to try it. I’ve been distracted by plugin issues. π
