roninParticipantYeah no problem, I can do that. Can you give me an id or date (is it #50 11/2009?) for the magazine? Just to be sure I buy the right one.
roninParticipantI often us Overtone GEQ and it works flawlessly in my setup. No problem here too.

Grey events/notes on grey background are not the prettiest thing to look at, and totally new users might be turned off. The coloring feature could be nicely displayed if all tracks were colored already, and it would also automatically activate the color picker in the inspector, which you can’t miss then on opening your first project ever./quote]
Thats a good and easy one! I always wondered why I have to enable track coloring explicitly. Enabled as default and the same grey value would be fine.
roninParticipantHi everyone,
I just want to add my two cents:
I think the new editor bar is a great addition as it provides a much better approach to the powerful profile feature. I’m enjoying it 🙂I have to admit that the mixer could really need an overhaul. The mixer is a very important tool in a DAW but currently the PDM-mixer lacks some useful feature like mono/phase switch and has some UI-related (plugins, visualization of the signal flow, coloring) problems. Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m sure Frits is aware of these things and I really don’t want to stress him. I have never been disappointed with the ongoing development! These things just take some time.
As previously said: It would be nice to see these global SMR and “Add Track” buttons in this release but I’m not sure if these are “small features”. I just fell in love with the neat mockups 🙂 By the way: I’ve never seen “mute groups” in any other DAW. I guess this could be an outstanding PDM feature but this is surely a big thing to work on.
@Frits: The version-wise youtube video is a really useful addition for newbies. They could be used as tutorial if they are done right. Maybe you can add some vocals? Or the community could do these videos too. I would try this.[/img]
roninParticipantthe global SMR buttons plus the fantastic “add track” and “add child track” button!

roninParticipant2.18 beta works fine here…at least the 32-bit version. I’ll try to test the 64-bit version soon.
roninParticipant@Limiter: You probably want to switch between pre and post meters. This can be done with the small rectangles on the channel pane in the mixer (Click and Shift+Click). Maybe your limiter doesn’t do anything because there is not enough input. The “Pre-“-gain (which is probably shown by the mixer) can reach higher values than 0db.
@Recording: “Bounce” is the right thing to do. You have to do a few things first.
1. set the tracks bounce mode to “realtime recording” (right click on the track header -> bounce)
2. set “activate realtime record” or press CTRL+B
3. play your arrangement and activate record (K)
roninParticipantWhohoo! Great mock up thcilnnahoj! I really like the idea of the SMR buttons and the new track-buttons.
roninParticipantNice work so far frits! “Focus” is imo the better term. Zooming via mousewheel would be nice (if pointer is in the navigator-area of course) but I guess thats the “mouse functionality” you were talking about.
edit: maybe some kind of “track indicator” would be useful. Some small lines or whatsoever to distinguish the tracks in the navigator.

roninParticipantFrom time to time the demo lowers the level on the master track (around a second). Is that your problem?
Does the sound stay at this high level? Does it distort somehow?Greetings
