sam cParticipantThanks Levindis. If I get back into Podium I will create templates again. I have been gone so long I have forgotten more than I remember (think I purchased in 2006). I am trying to decide if I want to use Podium as a regular workstation again. I appreciate your help!
Sam
sam cParticipantThanks Levendis.
I am surprised we don’t have aux busses and sub mix busses that can be added with a click of the mouse. Routing to a sub mix would be automatic, all tracks and aux busses are routed to the sub mix and the sub mix to the master outs. Routing to a aux buss is required as needed for fx use. Once you get used to that you become a bit, well, used to it.
I will skip this step with Podium and try all tracks to the master and skip the mix buss and 2 buss.
Thanks
sam cParticipantFritz, I must be explaining poorly. Most recording musicians use a mix bus or a 2 bus, right? That is all I am trying to do.
Some programs actually label busses separately, aux and sub mix. Sub Mix receives all audio and sends it to the master out.
Does that help?
Thanks
sam cParticipantFritz, I want all of my audio and buss tracks to go to a submix. The master should only get audio from the submix.
So no matter how many tracks and busses I use one buss needs to be second to last in chain, behind the master audio, and I am calling this buss a submix. Only the submix receives audio from tracks and busses. The master only receives audio from the submix.
Hope I made that clear?
sam cParticipantThanks for the reply. I’m not at the computer now but, what is the best method of the two so a buss is set up as a submix. I want a submix that is pre master an separate busses for fx. All tracks and busses go to the submix and only the submix sends audio to the master.
Thank you!

The poll will only allow you to vote once. I create a new poll topic each year, so you can vote again in January.
I do not remember voting….can you see that I did?
Thanks

sam cParticipantNo……
sam cParticipantFrits, honestly I did not realize there were presets until I was testing a new Reaper update the other day. I popped in a URS compressor and realized there were presets! Shows you how much I use Reaper or the URS plugs!
I opened Podium and no matter which URS I opened there is no way to get to a preset or save a preset. It is as if that function does not exist with URS and Podium.
I really am not too concerned but I thought I would ask and at least make you aware…..in case it comes up again.
sam cParticipantI had purchased this computer with a wireless internet card. Not sure why since I will never use it on the internet, recording only. When i disabled it the pops are gone! Cannot believe that over the entire weekend I could not figure that out!
Oh well, it is nice to have a modern computer….I hung on to that Pent 4 for a long time….hope this one lasts as long.
Thank for your help!

Sam, did you try the ASIO4ALL driver? If so, did it show the same problems?
Isn’t this a USB driver?

I did not realize I could try Asio4all? I’ll check it out and let you know. Calling presonus too but I am told not to expect much help!

Try “Latency checker” (google it)
Also get latest drivers for everything possible on your machine.
Can’t think of anything else to suggest.
I am going to call presonus too. Thanks.

Hi Sam C,
I also have presonus firebox running on Win 7 64 bit.
Latest Presonus Drivers all running fine.
I’m running on a DELL precision MC6400 laptop.
Have you tried turning off virus software, i have presviously had issues with virus software running on vista with my presonus?
Hope that helps,
Mike GHi Mike, no antivirus on. Is there anything else you might be able to think of…if it works on yours I must be missing something??

Does this also happen when using the ASIO driver in other hosts than Podium?
Yes but if I open a website and play a video, no pops!?
Sound Forge, reaper, podium, etc…pops….very inconsistent too. Seems like the longer the play the worse the pops….first 20 seconds I am thinking, good, I fixed it…..but no!
