Ive just rememberd that I may have found a bug, Podium crashed when I was copying several tracks useing the ctrl shortcut. It seemed to be related to one particular track, so I copied them all again apart from this one track and it was fine. when I copied them useing the edit menu (including the dodgy track) it was also fine. I’ll send the project file ASAP.

No it just said program not responding at the top of the screen.
What is the typical CPU percentage right before the spikes occur?
About 30%. I’ll just turn it of for now then.

stuYeah Ive briefly try’d Poly Iblit but have never realy got stuck into it, I’ll have to have another bash at that one then. The reason I ask about the V2 synth is because its a realy good synth you can make just about anything with it, the only thing is it lacks warmth, do you know of any plugins that can add warmth to cold or digital sounding synths.
P.s If you try V2 I would’nt get to stuck into a tune with it because there are problems with it, It causes bad spikes in Podium but once they start they don’t go away even if you turn monitoring off and on or close and reopen, but im sure eventually this will be resolved until then Im just gonna make presets for it.
stuWhile Im hear I’ll take the chance to report a few problems that have occured since installing version 1.38.
Today Podium crashed when I was changeing the hierachy level of a track, I was just simply moving the track up a level. I consider this very unusual because Podium has’nt crashed once since Ive had it.
During playback I could hear crackles when certain tracks started to play (as in my tune was playin along fine then when certain instruments came in I could hear noise that was’nt surposed to be there), I then solo’d the suspect tracks and the noise had gone, I then played them all together again and it had gone, I then closed the project reopend it and started playback the suspect tracks came in and so did the noise again, I did the solo thing again and the same thing happend, very strange what do you recon Frits.
Karma synth still causes faults in the on exit save option, theres no writing in the box’s and they are some what sqaushed. You still can’t save libary presets with it, the synth just returns to the starting patch. No doubt these problems are to do with that dll so don’t bother answering this if that is so.
Last but not least there have been alot more cpu spikes occuring, these had gone away for version 35 36 37 but have come back again. These spikes have occurd in a project that was fine in version 1.37, they don’t always happen but they are more frequent and once they start I have to turn monitoring of and on again.
stuWhat I don’t get Frits is that I never had any problems with recording up until about version 1.35 ❓

I was just wondering what you think about that V2 synth, It says its a VA at KVR but to me it sounds a bit digital, have you try’d it yet, what do you recon ❓ .

stuAs a student I find Myself with very little money alot of the time, so Ive had to make do with the free synths and effects I can find on the net, which is’nt bad considering that some of these synths are actually very good, some might even say they where better than many comercial synths. Any way due to not haveing much money Ive had to search every nuck and crany on the net to find the best free synths and effects here are all the ones that come to mind at the moment. Also they all come from KVR so just go to http://www.kvr-vst.com, when you get there scroll to the very right of the screen and you will see a menu saying quick instruments and effect, click on it and then click on instruments or effects or even hosts or developers and an alphabetical list will come up, just search the list for what your looking for.

stuYes the mapping is an audio input mapping named MIX IN LEFT+RIGHT.
Its the one I always use, Ive successfully recorded things in Podium before, I can’t understand why this is happening 😕 .
stuSo you are trying to record the audio output of an external synth?
No I’m just recording an instance of synth 1. When I do this I don’t press the b for bounce on any track I just press the r on the one I want to record and the r on the one that it will be recorded to. Sorry Frits this is all I can say, could it be the way that I have got my sound card set, I doubt it because I have’nt changed the setting for ages, but if you point out what it could be I’ll just double check to make sure.
Should I expect a big difference due to this dual processor development.

I think Your right about the synth 1 problem, thanks for fixing it I don’t know where I would be without synth 1.
What it was with recording was, when I pressed the R for record on the Midi track I wanted to record, and the R for record on the mix in left+right track I wanted to record to, I would then just press play (not with record on the transport bar on) Just to see how much of the meter (the track level meter on mix in left+right) was filled so I could boost it if it needed more output from the Midi channel. As soon as I pressed play to monitor the input to mix in left+right I could hear about a 1/16 delay.
do you mean bounce-record? No just normal record.
Is the delay appearing in the recorded audio track? Yes, but you can hear this delay before youve even recorded, it is aparent when monitoring the input to the track you want to record to. Someone has mentioned something about using a very small asio buffer to cure this problem, Ive done this and it works, the delay goes but there are lots of drop outs and clicks for obvious reasons.
Also just one more question, hows the progress with the karma fx synth going, have you sorted the problem with the dll out yet ❓ . Youve probably been to bussy with the dual processing thing havent you, oh well never mind I gues I just have to wait to use this little beauty.
Oh yeah I was in a bit of a day dream the of day just stairing at my screen in a trance like state, when I noticed that I missed out the e in translateing on that Podium poster I designed 😯 , HOW EMBARRASING 😳 😳 :oops:. Never mind, as I said it still needs to be masterd 😆 .

stuNice Frits, but you still have’nt answerd the question about the preset bank within the synth going of the screen so you can’t get to certain presets (the ones at the bottom of the bank that go of the screen).
stuO.k I’ll get of your back about v2 for now but since your currently speaking with the karma fx developer could you answer my questions concerning more problems I have found with the Karmafx synth (previous message).

Ive been making some patches for the Karmafx synth ready for when the next Podium is released, everything was goin fine, after I’d done a few I closed the project and them re-opend it a bit later on to do some more, when I went to load some of the patches I had created previously the bank went of the screen (the one that is view’d inside the actual synth) and I could’nt get to my patches, is this an issue that will be sorted out in the next Podium. Also libary presets don’t seem to work with the synth, when you save one the next time you open the project the synth has returnd to its default patch.
stuYeah the release is set at 0 out of 127 and this seems to cause a problem, but even when I avoid setting any release to 0, after a while the cpu starts to spike anyway 😕 . The release problem sometimes happens with synth 1 (daichi) as well, but the release does’nt have to be on 0 for it to happen, I think its arround 20 or so when it occurs, and it usually starts happening just after Ive saved all changes to the project.
So this is a bug then is’nt it ❓ Do you want me to send you the project file, Ive got time to do it tomorow if Im lucky.
