yeeah i didn’t quite get how to use segments properly at first either… only really got onto it a couple of months ago… works nicely once you know what your doing though. then again i’m naughty and didn’t read the guide very thoroughly! 😈 That might be part of the problem of podium being so cheap – people might cherish the guide less.
I find that the current implementation is already the most elegant and perfect way of showing what is going on in podium…. The arrangement window with the tracks down the side IS the flow diagram! Perhaps less so when using sends maybe.
I’d suggest that you colour your tracks in a way that helps build a better image in your mind of what’s going on. For instance you might have a high pass filter to seperate your basses from subbass so you’d make the subbass really dark, then the basses slightly less dark, then you might have another high pass to seperate mids and then you’d have your mids a lighter colour etc. This really really helps and I am sure is something that everyone probably has completely different preferences on. Just make a template track and go from that. Similarly colouring sends the same as what they are effecting. Personally I pick set values for the brightness for organisational reasons, and otherwise pick whatever hues suit my mental image of the instrument in question.
Here is an example:
i especially like the user colour schemes page 🙂
Aye, am really enjoying it too! My favourite features are the ghost notes in the arrangement window (makes harmonising easy), the tidy and organised display, the ease of colouring and the low memory/cpu useage.
woohoo 🙂
Hehe yeah that is a better way of explaining what I mean … i was having to ctrl+c, delete, draw new, ctrl+v hundreds of audio boxes, so just thought it might be handy.

oh btw is the texture customisable?
The texture will be colored according to the current color scheme. Just like the old ‘ripple’ (toolbar background) and canvas bitmaps.
Ahhh ace, have started using different colours for different projects to differentiate between them, or provide the right mood.
oh btw is the texture customisable? that would be well funky. Preset competition sounds a great idea btw.
check out goldwave… tis awesome for converting between formats
Oh it is a torrent… i don’t think the torrent is up anymore. Someone basically took the XP setup files and stripped out all the unneccesary services, games etc. It boots in about 2 seconds with the drive defragged by name hehe 🙂 Whatever has happened, it seems to be consistantly running faster, even than my old XP setup set to acpi.
update: podium also doesn’t show a multiprocessing option now. But I think XP must still be using hyperthreading because it displays two mps computers in device manager, plus I am having at least 33% more spare cpu. Therefore, this seems a good workaround for multiprocessing podium stabley…. Does this mean XP is allocating resources itself, instead of allowing apps to choose which processor they run on? Does anybody else want to try this, just to prove i am not dreaming? 🙂
Oh btw, why not have a user library for the presets, so if anyone turns out to be adept at tuning the settings they could send in presets themselves? Not that I am volunterring, I am pretty confused myself tbh hehe.
16 delay parameters! Bloody hell, thought you were keeping it simple lol. It will certianly be a lot of fun to play with now 🙂
Oooh, diggin the metal brush effect too.
Install windows xp bare naked edition… it has all the unneccessary services etc stripped out and loads in about 2 seconds :)… Means no crappy background services you don’t need eating up cpu either.
