A small bug: right-clicking the track part (where the track layout & faders are) of a floating track inspector opens the context menu at the wrong position (at the position where the attached track inspector is/may be).
Thanks. Fixed in the new beta2.
Also new in beta2:
Moving the mouse over the file browser address bar will highlight parent folders. Clicking the mouse will jump to the highlighted folder.

– Filters for the Project browser to view only VST/VSTi + parameters; VST presets; Audio/MIDI sequences; Automation sequences. (If possible to seperate all these)
I can see the use for accessing sequences of different types, but why would you want VST filters when you have that directly in the inspector device panel?
– A button for ‘Going up one level’ in the file browser, maybe to the left of the folder icon in the address bar. Like in pre-Vista Windows Explorer.
The space left of the folder icon is used to show the pin icon when files are linked in the current project. But maybe I could implement clicking on a subfolder part in the address bar to go up to that folder. That allows for quickly going more than one step upwards. Sort of like the way the address bar in Vista file explorer behaves, but without the arrow buttons between each subfolder. Good idea?
Also, I’ve been repeatedly getting Visual C++ Runtime error crashes, likely related to the floating browser window. I’m not able to reproduce them exactly. 😕
When I simply close an arrangement and open another one, I get a crash.
Then, after starting Podium again, it happens with no browser visible, too.You did not get this bug in 2.13 and previous releases, right?
I haven’t experienced this bug myself. If you can reproduce it, please email me your Podium.ini file.
Furthermore, sometimes, when the browser window’s open I become unable to delete sequences in the arrangement by pressing my DEL key.
And you are sure that the arrangement editor has key focus? In other words, can you for example use the cursor keys to navigate in the arrangement editor?

Is it possible to have a parent audio/midi track, and a child track that houses a VST, and then send the output of the parent track to the child track where the application of the VST params can be heard, i.e. parent track raw, child track reverb?
No. All data (midi, audio, automation) flows upward in the track hierarchy towards the master output. So in your example the child track needs to provide the raw audio, and the parent track the effect processing.
ZynewaveKeymasterIt even has an innovative Start page 🙂
And no, I have nothing to do with the development of this product.

This has been an issue for some time now but IMO difficult to categorise as a bug or not. When you drag an FX to another position it creates a duplicate.
I will change this behaviour eventually. It’s a leftover from the old expanded mode behaviour which I haven’t adjusted for compact mode yet.
c. Move the FX track and keep plugin settings.
While drag/drop of effect tracks are not currently possible, there are a couple of alternatives:
If you want to move the fx track within the chain you can use the “Move effect track” submenu.
The second method will also work when moving effect tracks outside the chain: Select the effect track. Cut or copy (ctrl+x/c). Select destination track and paste.

ZynewaveKeymasterHi, welcome to the forum 🙂
ZynewaveKeymasterSome links to the guide:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:control_surfaces
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?id=guide:mackie_controlAll transport functions are of course supported. Audio gain and pan can be controlled, but plugins and bus send levels so far cannot be controlled.
I have a Mackie MCU myself, and I’m looking forward to having some time to improve on the support for this. Hopefully later this year.

Tracktion sends “midi clock” to Renoise and they both manage to synchronise.
That must be because Tracktion in addition to the timing clock message also sends start/stop/continue messages. Podium responds to these messages, but does not transmit them. I’ll probably improve on that in a future update.
ZynewaveKeymasterWell, your request made me realize this was not as easy as it could be. I’ve now added a “SysEx…” command to the “New MIDI Parameter” submenu. So my reply modified for Podium 2.14 and forward is:
You need to create a SysEx parameter object for this:
Open the inspector parameter panel on a track where you have assigned a XV-5080 device mapping. Click the parameter panel menu button and select the “SysEx…” command from the “New MIDI Parameter” submenu. In the parameter properties dialog that opens, modify the parameter name to “GM2” and enter the “F0 41 10 00 10 12 00 00 00 00 00 00 F7” text (without quotes) in the “system exclusive message” text field. Press OK. Repeat for the other two messages.
Now you can drag this parameter from the parameter list onto the track timeline, where you want to switch to GM2 mode.
