Hi,
It’s always interesting to see your screenshots 😉
As I replied to you in another topic, the next release will have UI speed optimizations. Thus you hopefully don’t have to use this workaround setup.
Added to the check list.
Why is the average CPU so high in Podium (20 to 30%) with only two or three files playing and no plugin ?
I hope that percentage is from the Task Manager and not the CPU indicator in Podium. The task manager will always show a high percentage due to a currently rather inefficient drawing of audio in the arrangement editor. You’ll be happy to know that I’m currently working on optimizing this. I originally meant to spend a couple of days with this, but so far I’ve spent a week on it. I’m continuing work on the optimization, as the speed gains I have managed so far are huge.
You can’t do it with the mouse. An alternative solution could be: with focus on the track that contains the event, cut the event, move track focus to the destination track, and paste.
is there any chance you could build in a plugin tester which checks for offending plugins in projects if you ask it to, and disables the plugin without crashing Podium?
Podium has protection against plugin crashes during plugin load and in the audio processing thread. Even with this protection it is still possible for the plugin to overwrite memory belonging to the host, and thus possibly causing a crash in the host.
The images are as I expected, and I’d like to stick to my previous explanation 😉 :
Select the ‘punch out’ button, and you will get the handle.
Hi,
Punch out location is not set to infinity, but the bar stretches towards infinity because punch out is disabled. The punch out locator in your project is set to 578 (same as punch in), which is displayed in the field next to the punch in/out buttons. Enable punch out to be able to drag the punch out locator. Also you can right click in the timeline and use the ‘set punch out here’.
Why your project freezes, I don’t know. I tried playing it, and the cursor moves ok, but I don’t have the plugins your project is using. Does it freeze if you just enable monitoring of the arrangement?
You’re welcome. When it gets a little more crowded on this forum, and new users are experiencing long shut down times, I may have to call on your expertise with SpyBot 😉
Please post a screenshot, or email me a project file with the track coloring effect you want to achieve.
Are you talking about the color of the track headers in the tracks and mixer regions?
There are some settings in the colors setup dialog that defines luminance offsets for different types of sequence events placed on the tracks.
The cause of the delay seem to have been found then. That’s good to know 🙂
