With Podiums built in Real time bouncing features one could also bounce any changes (using your FR) down in real time to another track. 😉
Global SMR
Fantastic. You get pop ups for Solo Mute and Record states. Nice, tight and tidy. Easy to use, gets right out of the way. Its 10 times easier for me to manage large numbers of tracks and manage solo enabled tracks across groups. Best implementation of its type anywhere IMO. No more keyboard shortcuts for this feature here. Great!

Look, this is amazingly easy to use and it makes complex projects child play. Just a few clicks to set up your tags and that’s it. Click and go. Brilliant idea and the implementation is just as good.
I personally think the placement and height used by the toolbar is OK.
My only problem now is…how long this thing is going to stay in beta LOL! 🙂

I’m curious if you still think “track filters” is a better description than “track tags”. I abandoned the “filter” description because I thought it could be confused with DSP filter processing, as in EQ plugins or synth filter sections, etc.
I agree. Track filters as UA was saying or “filter” does indeed describe what it does but…the again “Track Tags” is shorter and does avoid the confusion with the use of “filter” and its related description for plugins elsewhere.
Bug?
The check button idea is great but I cannot get it to work here. It does not appear to assign/remove at all. ???

Tag or catagory may be what it is but it’s function is to filter. So my vote is to call it “filter”. And the tag idea for the browser is a good one.
Track filters may be better. “Filter” on its own might be a bit confusing. As for the tagging feature in the Browser it would be nice for 2.26 but if the 2.26 beta stretches on for a long time (4 weeks or longer) I am quite happy to wait for that until some point in future. No rush 😉
I am much more interested in selecting multiple tracks and choosing how many tracks to insert into a project.
Or…click on an Audio or Midi event first then just click on the Editor button to show the Sound editor…
Edit: Sorry this has been suggested already but enjoy the image it might help…
I’m seriously wondering if the tag idea should be extended to files in the Browser :-k as you said its kind of what is expected of them for tagging files.
Maybe Group is better. Track tag might work as it is self explanatory almost or Group Tag. One word would be ideal but not three.
I think Track Tags or Group Tags would be my choice for now anyway 🙂

About the word “category”: I’m thinking that perhaps “tag” is a better (and shorter) word for it. The word “tag” is commonly used as a descriptor for all sorts of objects. For example in the NI Kore preset browser, or as search words for video, audio and picture files.
What do you prefer: Category or Tag?
“Tag” IMO.

If you need an initial number of tracks, isn’t it sufficient that you have the track setting in the “new arrangement” dialog?
This works for the initial arrangement, but doesn’t work when you want to add multiple tracks to an existing arrangement. I would really like an option to “Insert N new tracks”.
I would also like the ability to select multiple tracks.
The addition of these two features would make a great improvement to the workflow, IMO.
Cheers,
Malcolm.
Yes. Agreed. Good points Malcolm. IMO Frits really these are basic features. Again though so far the whole category idea is great IMO. Global SMR is great to have (especially the pop up idea which is really clever stuff)
How cool is that? This whole category idea is simply genius! What a wonderful way to work with the UI.
What an amazing idea! It is fantastic to see global SMR (YES!) but wow in addition to that the categories idea is utterly brilliant. They are like folder tracks but in this case for viewing tracks quickly from a horizontal bar AFAICT. I love the way you can easily show or hide categories. One can have one or 3 or 4 e.t.c it should never get cluttered as the user can add the categories he wants or not.
Brilliant. 😯
The global SMR pop up idea “with a list of the corresponding track names” on the button is crazy (in a really good way) 😀
Well done Frits!!!
Nice additions and a quicker turnaround with this one. Good to see the fixes were not held up for too long as well. Thanks! 8)

3. I could not find a way to delete any of the favorite buttons. Any of them.
Obviously some part of this is a bug.
IIRC you need to right click on the buttons to bring up a small menu. You can then delete from there.
