Sub-folders for arrangements is already on the plan. I think it will only be necessary with one folder for each arrangement. There is no need to create further MIDI/Audio folders, as Podium does not use individual MIDI files.
Looking forward to that. It would be much better than it is now. Small addition…but very handy if not even essential when working on a large amount of projects.

I have Audacity for that reason. Thought it would be a feature “new users” would be interested in. Mentioning MP3 has quite a big impact as far as marketing is concerned.
I would like to see this in Podium. Not a priority for everyone, which is to be expected, but personally I would be interested in this feature.
In a word…wow. 😯
Loads of great presets as well. The St Pauls Cathedral preset is incredible!

How high on the list is this, Frits?
I would say it is on the first page of the feature requests 😛
Hmmmmm I wonder what we Podium users would give to see exactly whats on Frits ‘first page of feature requests’ he he. 8)
Actually you have been pretty transparent with upcoming features. 😉

I’ve also considered a small competition, perhaps on KvR, where I will give a Podium license to the one that can come up with the best zReverb presets. That way I would also get some presets for the default zReverb bank. You think that’s a good idea?
The new zReverb look is better than the previous one IMHO. The parameter values e.t.c are certainly easier to read. Nice.
Quite a complex reverb for your first effort. Well done. 😉
I think giving away a free license on KVR is a very good idea. While the thread would of course discuss the reverb itself, I think the hosts forum would be a good place to start the thread instead of the KVR effects forum. Maybe this too was your plan.
You might even hint at possibly repeating a free giveaway again when another zPlug surfaces like a compressor.
Of course the aim is not so much to get the presets but to raise Podiums Profile. Competitions certainly have a way of generating interest in a product.
I think a thread headliner title like “Free Podium License” should raise more than a few eyebrows. 😉
If you do go ahead with this you might want to make the most of their full attention at KVR by running a poll within the same competition thread to find out what plug they would like to see next.
zSampler
zCompressor
zFilter
zChorus
zPhaser
ZLimiter
Why?…because instead of a brief spike in interest at KVR you could maintain that interest a bit longer by at least providing KVR members who might not frequent here with a chance to participate in not only a possible preset reverb competition, but also an opportunity to take part in future competitions of this nature for future zPlugs.
Just a thought… 😉

An update on the zReverb progress:
Whew, I guess I could have chosen a more simple type of effect for the second plugin in the z suite 😉
He he…well at least you tried! It looks like a great first effort to me, especially if you knew little of this particular type of plug in development previously.
Thanks for the update.
While I can see the advantage in highlighting midi keys, there are a few other more pressing issues to address in Podium IMHO.
Of course however, everyone has different priorities. 😉

The fastest way to append multiple copies of a sequence event, is to select the event, and then press and hold the insert key until you have enough.
Just tried it.
Thanks!

I’ve minimized the artifacts when changing room dimensions, but I don’t plan on improving it further. That would require a lot of work and would also require more CPU power when parameters are changed. I think I’ve done enough to allow room modifications during preset design without having to turn down the output. Some of the Reverb plugins I’ve tried produce LOUD noises when changing parameters.
Ok, in that case I agree it probably is better to leave things as is. There are certainly more pressing issues to be addressed feature wise in Podium.
The zReverb however is another very welcome addition. Very few hosts at this price point ship with their own reverb and EQ plugs that integrate graphically as well as the zplugs do in Podium for instance.
Also these plugs are no doubt given the same level of development time needed to avoid needless bugs.
Hopefully new users will approach Podium with additional plug in cost savings in mind, now that two quality plugs will be on offer as well now, with more hopefully to come. 😉

At the moment you have a scalpel tool, however, would it be possible to implement the opposite and incorporate a stitching tool
Select two or more sequence events on the same track, and use the “Merge” edit/context menu.
This has got me thinking…is there anyway in Podium currently to paint, as in drag out multiple copies of a midi or audio file like ACID Pro?
I suppose a simple pop up, or option somewhere to select how many copies you want to paste, would also be sufficient and save a huge amount of time when arranging. Please excuse my ignorance here if this is possible already. I just cannot find the option if it currently exists.
FWIW here is a very good link that provides information on background tasks. It provides not just information on what they are but also advice on disabling them or not and what the effects might be.
http://www.answersthatwork.com
Click on the TASKLIST button.
Matching background task entries on my PC with the ones listed on the website link above, allowed me to remove many useless tasks and better understand why others are best left alone. 😉 It also left me with a very smooth running system.
I simply opened up the Windows task manager and disabled the processes I did not need or disabled certain services and stopped them from starting up at all. As always exercise care.
Useless background tasks really are a sequencers worst enemy.
