That is not supported in Podium yet. MIDI output of a plugin cannot be streamed into other plugins. One of the major features that is still lacking in Podium.
Given this, is this something we could do with Energy XT?
Or… how about using something like minihost or vsthost to contain Chordspace then routing the midi-out from there to a midi-in in Podium?
I’m not to familiar with chordspace playa but I think you need to put playa in the 1st track, than wrap a group track around and install your vsti. I’ll give it a try tonight if you want.
Or you could use a suntrack under the vsti and put playa on the subtrack.

I cannot think of any reason why anyone would not want this behaviour. They cannot access their plug in GUI’s without it, or a hear a pin drop if they do not activate monitoring / activate the sound engine anyway. 😉
This has saved me a couple of times. I think it could be an option but for myself it would be one that would be left off.
I have a couple of instances where a combination of plugins has consumed the cpu to the point where Podium has become quite unusable. This has mainly been the result of too many plugins with too many advnaced features turned on. Ozone is the main culprit. If by default monitoring was turned on every time I started Podium than I would be in the same problematic situation everythime I opned this project. By having monitoring off at default I can go in there and mute problematic tracks, turn on monitoring than freeze tracks to regain resources. This is life saver for me.
Other ideas are pretty good though. I too was lost with plugin GUI and the E button. But having said that it seems other hosts use a similar concept. The 1st time I fired up Cubase same thing, how do you get the plugin gui? The only really mindless one was Tracktion.
I think this is awesome and the funny thing is that just a couple of days ago I was thinking that although the current project page works quite well you can’t really get a lot of information on it. An explorer-type navigation with drop downs would streamline things quite a bit. And there it is…
When will this be available?
I think I’ve uncovered another little problem with how this works.
Here is the situation.
Starting point is Jamstix unloaded due to it being bounced.
I disable the bounce to deep edit Jamstix.
I make some changes within Jamstix perform an offline bounce and unload Jamstix.
If I do this again, the changes I just made to Jamstix are gone.
I’m not sure if I save the project prior to bouncing the track if it would help.
I think this looks pretty good…
I’m not volunteering for this but why not poll some of your users to see if there is an interest in maintaining the web site for you. I don’t think I would be going to far out on a limb in saying that we (the collective we) would much sooner see you focusing on continuing the development of this fine product rather than maintaining a web site. I might volunteer if I had ever developed a web page let alone a web site, but I just hire those types of people when it needs to be done at my workplace.

So do you want to be able to switch the samplerate of the arrangement between e.g. 96 and 48, when recording final bounces, versus when just working with the arrangement?
This is going back but is this doable?
Here are some numbers:
Arrangement running JAmstix live: around 80%
If abounce the group that Jamstix sits and have unload plugin set: around 54%
If I bounce the individual outputs: 62%
If Ithen mute the JAmstix in track: 62%
If I disable the bounce on track 1: 80%
Releasing subsequent track bounces doesn’t change the cpu that much so it seems to be working quite alright.
When I do a bounce at the group level it includes the vst effects that are on each channel..
The more time I spend with this program, and the more I challenge what I see the more confident I feel with the product your providing. This is really killer…

Podium will not unload a plugin unless all tracks with mappings belonging to the plugin instance is muted by a parent bounce track. So a parent bounce track capturing all plugin outputs is the easiest way to control unloading of a plugin.
This is what I was expecting to hear but not what I wanted to hear.
That is on purpose. I consider solo, mute and bypassing as temporary actions during a mix session. In these situations a plugin unload would be undesirable.
I think there are situations in which this might be desirable. What I am trying to do with Jamstix is such an example.
I have been using Jamstix under a parent bounce track that rolls up all outputs to a single bounce track. The issue I have with this is that as I work on the drum track I am using different compressions, eq settings and even the odd subtle reverb (but not so much) for each group of instruments. With Jamstix also running this starts to chomp on the old cpu rather hard. I have been able to alleviate some of the problems by increasing latency but its still pretty tight.
By bouncing each of the outputs and then unloading the plugin, I could gain back those precious cpu cycles and work on the mix with significantly less strain. One of the good things with Podium is that I could drag these bounced files to another location in the hierarchy to do further sound adjusting, but that makes up for at least 8 additional steps. If I had the ability unload the plugin, 1 more click and I’m done.
How about using

I would second this request.
My son is actually on a school trip to Europe. He will be in Paris for the final game and in Berlin a couple of days after.
I have it downloaded and I’ll give it a try but it just seems like added overhead to what is already possible in Podium. Granted the “state” functionality might be worthwhile.
Okay folks… I’ve been taking a gander at Pharzor and for the life of me I can’t see what it does that Podium does.
To put it just a bit differently, I don’t know hoe I would use it within Podium. Examples of how you are using it in Podium would be greatly appreciated.

WOrks like a charm and I like the new meter…
I look forward to this as well.
