I don’t use a midi in. Everything is done from the paino roll.
I’ve gone through them 1 by 1 here are the results…
I’ve set up a 4 bar loop, with no more than 3 noted played simultaneously…
Bar (xoxos) – yes
Chill – yes
Cosmogirl II – no
Crystal – yes
Cygnus – yes
EffEm – yes
Etiquet – no
Etiquet2 -yes
EVM Grand Piano – yes (but very subtle)
EZ-Poli (krakli) -yes
FreeAlpha – no
Gargoyle – no
Lizard (krakli) – no
Chimera – yes
Vurtbox – yes
Morphoza – no
Neokiller III -yes (very high cpu though)
Richman2 – yes
String Theory – yes
Stringz – yes
4front bass – no
4front epiano – no
4front piano – no
Ninja – no
Oatmeal – yes (played note stops after pop)
Poliblit – yes (played note stops after pop)
Rebel2 – no
Rez – yes
Sampletank 2 free – no
I tried all the above in Tracktion… None pop with the exception of Neokiller II with latency set to 2ms. If I increase latency to 10ms the problem goes away.
If I bounce render offline there are no pops even with with the worst setting on Neokiller II.
If we had previously done a full import of plugins in a project do we have to redo this for that project to use this new structure?
I don’t have a problem with that. For me, it’s nice to know as opposed to need to know.

There are at least 2-3 major features that are higher on the list
can i know them , or its a surprise 😳
It would be nice if we had a bit better understanding as to what the priorities/timeframes are. For example, I am looking to buy a controller, but if I can’t really control Podium yet, I can wait until its ready to go.
Cool… Thanks for the extremely quick response to this (yet again).

- Added ‘Export MIDI File…’ to file menu in sequence editors. Exporting in the arrangement editor will create a type 1 MIDI file with all tracks containing MIDI data. Exporting in the piano-roll, drum map or curve editors will create a type 0 MIDI file with only the MIDI events in the sequence.
Awesome!
Podium is working out great. The track was done start to finish in Podium. ONce you get the hang of it its much more usable than Tracktion.
What Suges said… except I’m a nobody really but a very happy Podium user.
Regarding graphics performance…. I agree with Fritz on this. I’m one of the guys that was having no end of problems with Tracktion 2. Tracktion 1 was very good from a graphics perspective. The very 1st version of T2 was fine as well, but all version from that point on really had graphics issues.
I have had no graphics performance issues with Podium on exactly the same hardware setup. I use a cheap nVidia card which is good. I looked at more expensive cards but all they really add is improved 3d performance which is not needed (for any daw) and a fan which only adds noise. Bottom line is that you do not need a highend card to run a daw.
You might want to look at the IRQ’s that are being used by your machine. Don’t be surprised if you find that your soundcard, video card, network card and usb all use the same interface. I had an older computer and this was a problem. It was more problematic in that it seemed that the video was taking priority over the sound and I was getting a lot of dropouts. I would much sooner have choppy video than have sound dropping out.
With T2 the workaround is delete all meters. Some people find this to be reasonable. I didn’t and now I’m here. Don’t give up on Podium.

zPEQ in and of itself takes Podium to another level. I’ve been working on a mix and zPEQ lets me easily dial in each track, and is actually quite easy on resources.
I can’t wait for the next plugin to come out.

Cool.
I learn something everyday…
It was “punch in”… Can’t recall enabling it though. Turned it off and everything works as expected.
Okay… I think I might be using punch in incorrectly…
The reason I was using the pencil tool to draw in a sound event is that if I didn’t do this the recording would just add to the previously recorded event instead of treating it as a seperate event, which is what I want. I’ll have another look at this later.
Thanks.
