One host I have looked at recently has a “sync point” line on clips. It defaults to the start of the clip and can be dragged similar to the fade-in/out handles. When dragging the event, the sync point is used to snap to bar/beat lines. Is this what you’re looking for?
That is exactly what I’m looking for.
At home my internet provider does a pretty good job of blocking so I get about 10 a day.
At work we use a Barracuda Spam blocker, and just looking at the stats we get about 4,000 emails a day of which about half are blocked at the spam firewall.
We have been getting an increasing amount coming through so we will be updating this weekend. Currently I get about 10 spam messages coming through in a day.
The way it is done in Tracktion, Vegas or Reaper seems to me extremely clever.
You click on a clip to select it (the track is automaticaly selected) and copy it :
– if you don’t select a track or click somewhere, the clip is pasted after the first one (in Tracktion) or at the cursor position on the same track and then after the previous one (in the others)
– if you select a track, the clip is pasted on this track at the cursor position
– if you click somewhere in the track area the clip is pasted at this position on the corresponding track.
It is hard to make more intuitive to use, and it works the same for multiple selection.
This makes sense….
Too cool…
Here is my place at max zoom… My house should be right in the middle of the page….
I would say locked to the waveform…
I like it… and am anxiously waiting…

But if there is a volume value visible somewhere on the event, we can see if it has been amplified or not ?
Yes. I think the best solution is to let 0dB be at the top edge of the event.
I would agree with this.
The 1st thing I try to do is turn off the splashscreen so I am somewhat ambivalent to this.
Wow… I am glad I asked…
I am quite impressed… It makes my workflow look somewhat mickey mouse…
That’s pretty wild… Not really my cup of tea but I can appreciate the musicianship. If I was asked to do somethink like this I don’t where I would start. A lot happening in there but everything seems to have it’s space.
So tell me… How do you begin putting together an arrangement like this?
From a fade in / fade out perspective I would change nothing… However, I would like to see automatic crossfades but with the ability to further edit the crossfade curves as you show with the fade controls…
Looks awesome… Can’t wait….
I’ve always been intrigued with the Guitar Port online service but have been discouraged by having to tie it to a Line6 product. I have nothing against Line6 but I have just found other products be at a better price point and more readily available when I have decided to lay out some cash.
I have also been thinking about looking into George Lynch’s Guitar Dojo.
http://www.georgelynch.com/newsite/index2.html
I’ve been a ling time fan of Lynch and I would be curious to see how this Dojo effective this approach would be in improving ones playing. $30 a month is a lot of money though compared to th guitar port online and I doubt that it would have the breadth it (gp online) would have.
Cheers…
Guitars rule…
Ever consider doing some online collaboration?

If you have say 5 tracks with all their lanes hidden, only the very last track (or child track in a group) events (audio, midi or automatiion) can be seen in the arranger.
It would be nice to be able to see the events on other tracks in the arranger that have their lanes hidden by simply clicking on the < strip. Currently that will give that track focus in the Track Inspector and the mixer but it will not show any events that might be present on tracks with hidden lanes, unless it is the last child in a group of tracks that already have their lanes hidden.
Unless I have overlooked something there is no way to maintain the <<< hidden lane structure of multiple child tracks and see any events on each of those tracks by clicking on any of thier < strips. Allowing track events to be seen in any other tracks within a group that have their lanes already hidden, would provide another way to work in Podiums arranger without having to unfold tracks first. 😉 I want to see what is on the last child track in any group but also what is on the other tracks with hidden lanes in the same group, without needing to unhide each lane first.
Simply clicking on the < strip of each hidden track to see the events on it would be great.
Great idea… +1

Really? I thought of Line6’s PODs as somekind of a revolution in guitar recording some years ago. I am a little biased, as I owned and still own a lot Line 6 stuff.. Flextone HD, Line 6 Cab, PODxt, PODxt Live, POD 2.0 (heard here) and Toneport UX2.
I don’t quite understand it either as if you hadn’t told me it was done on a POD I would never have known. There are a lot of tone snobs out there, but at the end of the day, if you use a product well it doesn’t really matter.
Hey man…
Kind of like it… A lot of people slam the Line6 products but I think you’ve got a pretty good bluesy sound coming from it.
How do you like the ezDrummer and Jamstix combination? How do you split channels on drums?
By the way, speaking of bluesy stuff I saw the Stones for the 1st on Sunday. Man, was that a show. Bought some tickets at the last moment and ended up about about 15 feet from the extended stage. Some good bluesy stuff there.
