I’ve played around with it a few times before and it’s capable of some interesting effects typical of spectral domain type stuff.
– though I have to admit that my understanding of the term ‘spectral domain’ is a little sketchy 🙂 –
Time stretching sounds pretty decent to me as long as it’s kept within reasonable limits – of course you can take it to extremes as well. The main thing though is that it’s a standalone app and as far as I’m aware has no plugin version.

It is also necessary to parametrize the VST Vocoder not as an effect but as an instrument in ” Device Mapping properties ” (Device is an instrument).
that’s right – I should have mentioned that 🙂
The only vocoder type plugin I have is sonic-charge bitspeek. I set it up with the midi input on a group track and the audio input on a child track like this:

I don’t know if it’s the proper way of doing it, but it works for me. I would imagine other vocoders might work in a similar way.
I’m still on 32bit vista

It would be great to have CTRL-+ for 10 steps and + for 1 step…
Now theres only 10 steps at the time…. sometimes you just need some smaller adjustments.
+1 to that

The “+” and “-” of the numeric keyboards do not allow it.
Only the “+” of the touch “+=}” allow it to increase.
But no touch to decrease.
What about the “-” key next to the “+=” key. It works for me.
Hmm, I just noticed that today too. Could be a bug that’s popped up in 3.1.1 or 3.1.2

enjoyed listening – overall a good mix I think, particularly on the vocals and guitar – thanks
Assuming you already have a midi-out device selected in the audio/midi setup, then your midi-out should appear as a source in the track source selector.

I think it would also be good if Podium supported horizontal mouse-wheel scrolling.
‘Alt+Mouse wheel’ scrolls horizontally
Have you tried recording into CoolEdit with the same signal path? i.e.
Guitar -> Phonic MM1202 -> M-Audio Audiophile 2496 -> CoolEdit
I don’t know how long you’ve had the soundcard, but I had to replace my card recently after 10 years of reliable use. I wasn’t able to determine what went wrong but it started to cause various audio programs to crash, including Podium. Hence it had to go – my conclusion being that hardware can fail after time.
Mart.
It must involve a fair bit of work as it’s been on the request/to do list for a long time. It is the one thing I’ve been waiting for though…

I just begin the music at bar 3, and that gives me a 2 bar pre-count.
That’s exactly what I do. It’s not a problem really.
