Very much enjoyed bouncing to that set of 3, Lion 8)
How come no raps this time!?
It’s all purely instrumental, this album.
I’ll still be writing and rapping, but I’ll be doing a lot more live music sets like these.

How long have you been into digital music production? How have you NOT heard of the Monome? And how can you say it’s not an instrument? Have you seen artists like galapagoose? Dude is an amazing musician and he uses his Monome and MPD18 all the time. There are alot of people that use Monome’s and it has a sizable community, though it’s really about building a Monome as opposed to buying one. This is what inspired Akai’s APC40/20, Novation’s Launchpad, Livid Instruments’ Ohm64/RBG and Block, probably more. It’s a fantastic piece of work and I enjoy not only seeing people perform on them, but even just seeing each persons individual controller.
I’ve never had any real *problems* with Podium, more like small issues with certain lack of features that don’t really make or break a DAW program for me. But, this is beside the point.
Why bother making a big deal about not using a program? This is just a call for attention, hoping someone will plead that you stay.
There have been quite a few DAW programs, big and small that I tried for a while and then stopped using because it just didn’t do it for me, never have I gone onto their (or any other) forum, YouTube, blogs or anything like that to announce that I’m no longer using it.
Look at 9th wonder; for the longest he used FL Studio, then not very long ago he moved on to the MPC. He didn’t make a formal press release that he’s no longer using Image-Line’s software. Why? Because its no point!
The only thing this serves to do is either call attention to yourself or attempt to defame the company and/or make them appear to have inferior products.
You see this kind of stuff ALL the time online. Something that someone doesn’t like they are compelled with the urge to announce it to the globe so they can feel like people actually care what they think.
I know this is long and I’m up on my soapbox, basically criticizing you for being on YOUR soapbox and normally I’d just shrug it off but its just really annoying and even though I have plenty of better things to do right now, I’m not doing those things at this very moment. 😛 Also as Telenator has said, I’m pretty sure you’ve done this same thing once or twice before and even though I’m taking my time to write this I’m not going through the extra effort to search through your post history cause in the end, who gives a crap?
Here’s the real deal, instead of announcing that you’re no longer using a piece of software just simply stop using it and let people go “Where’s Michi (or whoever, really) been?” IF they even notice that you’re gone. That is all
While this is something I’d like native, I’ve accomplished this through Plogue Bidule and MIDI Yoke.
Can be all self contained with Bidule, or you can send it to other tracks in Podium routing to Inputs of MIDI Yoke.
Where did you see that the last release is 2004?
Thanks!
Working on a few bumps (adultswim style, mostly ACTN inspired) and a routine for a bonus track.
Randomization of note velocities. Sweeeeeeet
Someone is doing of a video showing these features, right?

The real work around for that would be to bounce the track and move bounced audio to new track, if needed.
Indeed. I used that too. I noticed how important and how many roles the bounce function has in Podium – that is a good thing.
Thanks!
PS: No suggestions at all, Lion? For new features I mean.
Already been said.
MIDI Out
and Audio Time stretching
Everything else is like “Yea thats a good idea” lol

if we’re talking about the merge function… I would like to get proper audio merge, with volume edits…
Now, if I take a wave, split it, adjust volume and position, when trying to merge into a single wave again, all the volume edits are gone.
The work around is bundle events, but that is not really merging, isn’t it?

MIDI. It’s coming. It’s up there high on the list of guaranteed improvements. We’ve all put in our feature requests and looked at this issue from every possible angle. Meanwhile, I suggest to you what I and others have found useful as workarounds, namely Phrazor (the full last beta version, not the limited edition), Wusik, and shortcircuit (the older 1.12 [1.x something] version works best for me, avoid version 2). I or someone will try to find you the proper links later, but these ‘mini-hosts within a host’ might help you out. There is also the ability to use ReWire with Podium now, which I have moved to and am loving it. I use Podium as a Master DAW with great results. You can do your MIDI stuff on another inexpensive host this way and bring things altogether. I’m still experimenting, but this ReWire deal is possibly the most powerful setup I’ve ever seen.
Woah, back it on up! I use shortcircuit all the time. I know nothing about this.
Thanks for the extensive review Tele
Yea, I actually downloaded Bassline somewhere, I dont think I installed it yet. As for everything being tight, thanks — I started out playing bass with a few other students and since I got into full production I’ve been a stickler for letting all important elements really cut through.
As for the sound I used in ‘something about hip-hop’ (track 6). It’s from a free sample pack from sample radar (music radar’s sample library) – experimental-samples. That’s enough info for everyone to find 😉
Anything thanks for the (constructive) critique and info, helps my confidence and more importantly my direction.
On the back-end, funny that you mention Duke Ellington he’s actually one of my favorite musicians and one of the first I learned to play on Bass.
haaaa 😆
thanks.
People have been really responding to Get It. TBH thats the one I wanted to have the most response to.
There’s a video planned for it.
Thanks, I have one more coming this Monday.
