Frits, you certainly do listen !!
this window looks very promising – maybe it lacks an entry for adjusting velocities?
any plans on providing ‘direct access’ shortcuts ( like adjusting swing amount once and then only performing swing without bringing up this window everytime? )?
i’d vote for keeping originally recorded timing at hand.

regarding your 1ms on drums theory : you are aware that 1ms equals a distance of not more than 34cm / 14″ , are you? so sitting not properly in front of your monitors does the same harm!!
    :-k

regarding the move function : it’s more a matter of being organized than workflow – so it’s just a thought
but to me 1. und 2. are crucial!
looking forward to your ideas on that!

There are no edit commands for these yet, but if you check the track properties dialog you will find settings for dynamic humanizing of timing and velocity. These will be randomized during playback.

But this is on per track basis – i was thinking of per clip

When you drag with the mouse while snap is off, your mouse position determines the position. When you use key shortcuts, there need to be a defined interval that the events should be shifted with. That interval is determined by the quantize setting. Use the Shift+D/F keys to change the quantize value.

i see but it seems to be a bit fiddly to just move one note some ticks – change the grid setting – move – restore former grid setting

    4. related to 3. it would be nice to have a keyboard shortcut to temporarily disable the snap function while moving notes around
You can use ‘T’ key to toggle snap on/off. That will work also while you’re dragging events.

but that does just switch off the snapping and does not restore the former state
    thanx for answering

Hi Ronin, thanx for answering – well done for explaining the preroll issue ( but hold it Sir, me = bassplayer 😆 ).
so, there is no keyboard shortcut for “quantize note start” right now?
    cheers, michi

hi, giving podium another testdrive – just some questions on keyboard shortcuts : can i edit the existing ones and can i add my own ( i lack a shortcut for quantize note start for example )
and another one on the metronome preroll ( i never understood your way of thinking ) : i still can’t start recording at beat 1 of bar 1 when i want a preroll of 2 bars ( not a showstopper but rather unusual ).
    cheers, michi

    did some more testing :
this problem does not depend on punch in/out
i have set my asio buffer to the lowest value possible ( 64 frames )
    now it is getting “better”
i found that i have to play some note before the loop start point and then it records ok !!
    will send a project at info@zynewave.com ?

Frits, i’m still thinking what could cause this troubles :
i tried with several synths and got same results – sometimes first note is sounding but not recorded –> can’t be the vsti i guess

what i found today is that there is a difference in the number of clips recorded – sometimes it is just one and sometimes there ar two!?!

will try with different ASIO settings – will report back!!

Sorry Frits, it makes no difference … with or without time stamp from driver
sadly enough my quest for a new daw is not over

Sorry to bother you again Frits, BUT
had been playing with 2.08 all day long –> my recording issue seems to come and go and i have no clue why – seems to be a bad team podium and me – there is no use for a daw when i’m not able to record properly everytime …
    sorry

OK, i got it !! this only happens when i want to record starting with bar1 – when i start recording with bar3 my count in over 2 bars works and also my recording even in loop mode works perfectly well – no dropped first note!!
seems to be an issue with starting to count in before bar1…
Thanx for your support Frits – as i said before – very big point for podium!!
    regards,
    michi

oh, i see, if i want to start at bar1 i cannot do a count in!!! now i got it – maybe this is also the reason for not getting first beat recorded?
will give it a try with start at bar3 and have thorough look on it, will get back and report
thanx for your quick help – it is not too common to have the dev helping out after midnight!!!!!!!!!! big point for podium!
    michi
