thanks,
I also noticed that Reaper automatically records the SQ80 midi transmitted PolyAftertouch Data as “events” only . Probably impossible or messy to represent this graphically.
No, I would not blame the plug that way, the weird thing is the changing of “track Focus’ from the Vsti automation tracks,, would expose ot hide the issue.. The EQ plug would work fine . I put it down as one of those things and that is only a problem if it happens again in a unrelated incident. .
I found the problem ,,
Changing the Vsti with different Automation made no difference ,, still would freeze under the same circumstances.
I had some 5 automation tracks running with Posihfopit EQ plug which must have been weirding out and Podium was still trying to tick along,,, deleted a couple of them and all is fine now. Though it is intreresting that change of Track Focus on a Vsti Automation would expose / hide the problem.
I have been experimenting with Elevayta’s Stream Boy as a Rewire Replacement and it seems to work well. Give it a try.
testing round 2:
Save/Load Podium project with Modulation track focused:
1) Change to focus EWQLSO before playing >>>> freeeze
Save/Load Podium project with EWQLSO track focused
2) Change to focus Modulation before playing >>> fine.
i will try out with another Vsti.
Actually even if the ‘list’ menu (just noticed it again) was available to be navigated from the bottom. I just want to see as many patch names as possible ,, so while on loop back mode I can browse. On reflection maybe the list menu on the side is enough,, .
Hi Spe3d,,,, I was able to get the Freebies.pod project working at 44.1 by selecting the ASIO DirectX Driver from my driver list. Maybe the Freebies.pod has project settings which allow it to only work at 44.1..
anyway here is the report of my settings to get audio with the Freebies.pod project.

All my other .pod projects are at 48KHz using the
Audigy ZS ASIO [B800] Driver so I can use all 20 I/O’s available.
Switching between Sampling Rates I sometimes get the message “Could not start 44100 audio streaming” even though I know my project is 48KHz,,,,I just close Podium and restart it and then make the change.
I think improved Demos are on the cards.

EDIT:….. I see there is already a response,,,, I am so slow at typing.
aha… what I found was pressing the mouse on the piano roll keyboard only plays a note as long as the resolution set… I had 1/64 set and so was very short and then I set to 1/1 and the pressed piano key played longer. 🙂
also,,, I found that when using the mouse on the keyboard in the piano roll… pressing on the piano key does not hold the note.
Just a minor request… when moving notes around is it possible to switch off (or option) the preview sound (of midi notes) when Play button is active?… Its just that it interferes with the pattern sound as it is playing. Nice to have when you need it.
Beware Podium is addictive.
alriiight! 😀

The visual spacing between each piano key a-a#-b-c-c#…is not even on the piano roll
The keyboard is laid out as a real piano, with equal spacing between the white keys. Are you saying you prefer it to be spaced evenly between each note? If so, then I could add a mode to the keyboard region properties that would allow you to select your preferred layout..
Yes on the Piano Roll itself… an evenly spaced grid. 🙂

In Rearrange mode I would like to be able to move all / selected notes around the screen using the arrow keys.
I plan on using the arrow keys for navigating the notes. Maybe use ctrl/shift+arrow keys to displace the selected notes with the current snap quantize value. + and – keys could be used to adjust velocity. Add a few more key shortcuts such as a key to insert a note, and then we are not far away from having step sequencing implemented.
To clarify… select notes in piano roll then press arrow key(s) to move them up/down/left/right in the grid… better than a mouse in most situations.
