I’ll try to add track event/note event muting for the 1.74 release.
π― π Great! When will that be? Fades and event muting..
seems like christmas is coming earlier this year! π

I’ve now got the fades working. After some tests I’m having doubts on how best to store the fade in/out durations. Currently they are locked to the arrangement timeline. Thus if you change the arrangement tempo, or time-stretch a sound event (not yet implemented), the fade in/out positions will move in relation to the actual waveform. Would it be better to have the fade in/out positions lock to the actual waveform data?Hmmm based on your description of potential side effects or problems with the ‘locked to time line’ approach I would think having the fade in/out positions lock to the actual wave form data would be a better choice.

I think, there are many people reading Beat that are mostly using Loops. So there will be many requests for Timestretch, I think.
For other people who are tired of using Cubase or Sonar, Podium will be a perfect alternative. I hope Frits will sell a LOT of new licences!! π
I just saw in the current issue of BEAT, that the next issue includes a full version of Podium. So THAT is the mag that is gonna spread Podium.. 8)
What will be the restrictions? They say it will be a full version, so are there any restrictions at all? Will the owners be able to update to new Podium Versions?

But if there is a volume value visible somewhere on the event, we can see if it has been amplified or not ?
Yes. I think the best solution is to let 0dB be at the top edge of the event.
I would agree with this.

Frits, will fades make it into the next release? π
Can’t wait to get my fingers on them!! π
I absolutely like what you’ve shown us so far!

Is the blurred background image a screenshot of Podium?
Yes. Three screenshots.
To be honest, I’m not sure I like this better than the existing splash screen.
π₯ ok.. It was just a try.. Podium is your baby! π
Frits? You don’t like it? π

Well, I did not want to talk about this, but since acousmod mentonied it… Yeah, I kinda agree with him. New splashscreen design looks oldfashioned for me (but Podium design is not), and the icon now looks strange… Because it’s hard to recognize it in windows start menu (it has a white background by default).
I believe that icons that uses 32bit colour depth with pseudo3d effects looks more catchy for potential user’s eyes.
But of course it just my opinion.
I agree with that.. Lets start a little contest! π
Frits, how do you like this one??
I know it is nothing really extraordinary, but I think the colors match perfectly to the standard theme.. What do you guys think?
I like the idea of layers and moveable fades a lot! π
Seems to be very powerful! It’s a pitty, because it is only for Mac..
EDIT: If Frits would implement fades as sequence objects (as it is possible right now) BUT on top of each audio sequence, it could also be seen as individual object in the project tree folder, or in the list window. If we then could change the fades like we can edit normal automation sequences, THAT would be great!! So it is simply a better implementation for level automation. Of course with somekind of auto crossfade..
just my 2 cents.. π
Thanks for the update! π
Really appreciate the bugfixes!
I have also been thinking about looking into George Lynch’s Guitar Dojo.
Me too! π But 30 $ is too much for me right now. And there is no trial there, is it? For me (at the moment) Guitar Port Online is all I need. Very clever implementation inside Gearbox π
Ever consider doing some online collaboration?
What kind if collaboration? Sounds interesting! 8)
I don’t think it is fair to say I say so little about it.
+1!!
Sometimes I wonder if it would be a better solution to do like e.g. JΓΈrgen is doing with eXT2; Stop the frequent releases and announce that something “big” is coming up, and then go undercover for a year or so.
I can assure you, that at least for me, the fact that there are frequent releases is a major reason why I love Podium! Thus we as users seem to have a direct influence on the development as feature requests are implemented. Please don’t stop to work on Podium this hard and the way you do all the time.
I think one can get a false impression about how you work. I don’t think you work this way, but maybe others do: For some people it might look the way that you are only working on specific FRs between the releases, but I can imagine, that some FRs take several releases of development in the “background”. Thus as some other features recently made their way into Podium (and I LOVE the template tracks!!!) you have certainly made your mind about future releases! For ME, the implementation of the recent workflow enhancements and usability features for newcomers are WAY MORE important than clip fades!! We all want this community to grow. It is only possible this way!! And I am ok with my current workaround for clipfades, as I automate the levels at the specific points in the timeline.
And I hope you do not understand my frequent requests as means of distraction π We users and those who request some features from time to time are only interested in the growth of Podium. How YOU, in the end, react to those requests in terms of schedule or priorities, has always been great!! So take your time! When I take a look at Tracktion and the fact that they are not able to fix the (for me) simplest bugs, I realize that working with Podium including your frequent bugfixes is like DAW heaven!! 8)
So: Don’t change anything, please!! π

New tutorial: Multiple monitor outputs

Comments?
I wonder if any of you have done something similar, or even were aware that you could do something like this in Podium?
Awesome! At this time I won’t need such a monitoring setup, but I also was not aware of the possibilities! π³
The power of the hierarchic engine becomes obvious here! The tutorial section is a good one 8)
Anyway, when does 1.71 arrive? π
