Hey man…
Kind of like it…
Thank you!! 🙂
A lot of people slam the Line6 products
Really? I thought of Line6’s PODs as somekind of a revolution in guitar recording some years ago. I am a little biased, as I owned and still own a lot Line 6 stuff.. Flextone HD, Line 6 Cab, PODxt, PODxt Live, POD 2.0 (heard here) and Toneport UX2.
How do you like the ezDrummer and Jamstix combination?
I really like them in combination. But Jamstix in 8th shuffe mode on a simple 8th rock rhythm and there you go.. Really easy to use. The fills sound amazingly realistic with ezDrummer. The sound here is different to what I mix ezDrummer elsewhere. I only treated the stereo signal here and didn’t do anything to the single parts of the Drumset.
How do you split channels on drums?
I simply activate 7 stereo outputs inside Jamstix and load ezDrummer inside Jamstix. The specific routing can be done in ezDrummers mixer view. Very easy and versatile imo.
By the way, speaking of bluesy stuff I saw the Stones for the 1st on Sunday. Man, was that a show. Bought some tickets at the last moment and ended up about about 15 feet from the extended stage. Some good bluesy stuff there.
Cool! Although they seem to be as old as stones themselves, they still rock!! 🙂
This is a short blues that was the first I’ve learned on guitar years ago. Since then I never had it recorded, so here it is..
Drums are Toontrack’s ezDrummer driven by Jamstix. The guitar sound is from Line 6′ Pod 2.0 (2006) and played via a Fender Squier. The Bass is my Yamaha Bass. There are only few plugins used here.. Mostly zEq, Voxengo Analog Flux, SpectraQ and MPL 1 – Pro.
It is just a simple 12 bar blues repeated 4 times.. Hope somebody will like it 😉
Great! Thanks!!
Good idea…
I think Frits is getting tired of us requesting this! 😀
FWIW the pace and implementation of features so far has been just right IMO, which is even more remarkable for a single developer!
+1!!
Just a reminder.. 😉 I can remember Frits saying that he tried to contact Propellerheads for a ReWire license, but the never responded.. They actually did to Justin, who develops Reaper. I think, he also tried a few times. Perhaps the people from Propellerheads need more encouragement 😉 hehe.. I don’t know how hard a ReWire implementation would be, but it would highly push Podium’s sells, imo.
As I said, just a little reminder 😀
Darcy is right! After some time you won’t regret getting over the steep learning curve. The reward comes in a powerful workflow that is getting better and better as Frits implements more features.. And this forum needs more input like yours, so feel free to post whatever you like.
It seems that you are happy with how your VST plugs sorted
Yes 🙂
Thanks for clearing things! 😳 🙂
But one thing: I already tried that.. Create the aforementioned template tracks (without mappings attached, because you want empty tracks, I guess) and copy the whole group. This is possible with the current implementation. You can paste these tracks in any existing project’s template arrangement. This of course only works for empty tracks, as the tracks loose their mappings when copying to another project.
Is this some help? 😛
Again, sorry for the misunderstanding!
I’ve opened a New Browser window and moved it over to the right monitor – can I change this into a mixer ?
Yes! I have done that. Create a new profile for that, make sure the “sync browser” option is checked, and there you go! 😉 you can switch through profiles by pressing F8. Having selected the mixer profile then, Podium will remember that you used the browser window as a mixer.
@ Frits: Perhaps you could add a new profile by default? A mixer profile for those you do not want to mess with the profile editor?
😳 now I understand how that was meant.. sorry..

Well, not exactly… There was a button in old Podium wizard, after pressing it Podium has automatically searched in VST folder tree for missing dlls.
Yeah but Podium seems to do that automatically when it shows you that there are VSTs missing – hence the red icons. So why do you want that extra search button? 🙂

I think we mean the same 😉 If Frits would put some template tracks in the template arranger by default, you could easily “load” them (without mappings attached) by clicking under “create child tracks”.. With a submenu, which can easily be created by putting the tracks in a group beforehand, this feature seems to be exactly what you suggested, unless I am completely misunderstanding you. But I think I got you right. 😉
Correct. You got me right 🙂
That is a very clever way to acheive my FR 😆 But…because track templates cannot be copied or used in another project my FR still stands why? If implemented it would be available in any project, existing or new.
Your suggestion is brilliant for a single project but cannot be used for other projects or copied to other existing projects.
The Track template a user could build, based on your suggestion (with a previously saved number of tracks to be recalled) can only work with that specific project.
My FR would work in any project new or existing as a right click option.
I think Frits explained what he plans to do to get around the template limitation between projects issue in the 1.70 thread. Once he has done that…your suggestion would easily work across new and existing projects. 😉
While we wait my FR would have to still stand. It would still be my preferred option in any case. 😉 Ideally having both would be even better. 8)
You should read my posts more thoroughly! 😉 I suggested that Frits could implement a “default template arrangement” which already has the tracks mentioned before. This default template arrangement would be created everytime we create a new arrangement. Thus you have them in every project and we do not have to create them by ourselves! 🙂
Missing VSTs are showed by a red symbol in the devices list. Or is this not what you meant?
