demo projects: for sure 🙂 i was going to suggest bundling plugins with demo projects, but thought it would be a logistical nightmare (user would have to specifically download them separately to for it to work)… making your own plugs would be a good idea, but…
have you thought about approaching developers of freeware and asking if they would like some of their plugs bundled with the plugin demo download? they’d get more exposure, and it would save you time developing plugins.
some names that come to mind are rgcaudio triangle I + II (http://www.rgcaudio.com, Rene is the developer), maybe http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/ for the Classic Series of plugins. wouldn’t hurt to ask anyway. Or, you could even approach Computer Music magazine about doing a special PodiumCM edition which has the CM studio plugins bundled with it – are you familiar with CM and it’s library of plugs? seriously, it wouldn’t hurt to ask, as they always have “xxxxCM” and “yyyyCM” on their coverdisc. Also with CM coverdisc plugs they do 3 or 4 page spread about how to get started. I haven’t bought CM for a while but as a newbie in the past it was a great source of info
Reinstalling Podium update seemed to fix it… case closed 😉
Hi Frits
First I’ll check out using different sample rates, I was using 48Khz, and get back to you
Cheers

Or are you talking about being able to import e.g. 44.1 loop files into an 48 arrangement, and have the loops sample rate converted to 48 during playback?
that’s the one! 🙂 as long as it’s on the list i’m happy, as it can be worked around by resampling in audio editors

What about Win XP and 2 graphic cards , 1 AGP and 1 PCI
i’ve just upgraded to a dual monitor setup, it’s great! i have all my plugins opening on the second screen 🙂
i bought an older Matrox G450 dual-head video card – have a look on ebay and you might be able to buy one, or one similar to it. the beauty of this card is that it only takes ONE AGP slot, and the two monitor outputs come out of the same card 8)
In terms of running an AGP and a PCI card in a dual setup, I think they’d both have to support something like TwinView from Nvidia (which most cards do I think, these days). If in doubt, read the manuals of both the cards.
If you are buying cards, ask the salesperson at the PC shop if you can run the two cards together in a dual setup
But the easiest think would be to track down a Matrox card. The one I got is built for business so doesn’t hog computer resources, although it probably wouldn’t handle games too well 😉
what email address can I send myproject file with EST in it to, Frits? Thanks

Podium was reviewed in Swedens biggest “musicians magazine”, in the latest issue, released on the 25th of january.
Congrats Frits!
Have you sent Podium into any of the big UK mags (SOS, Computer Music, Future Music) to see if they’ll review it?
damn it. even with the cable unplugged, AND with the input mapping deleted, it’s still happening 🙄
so it wasn’t what I thought after all, must have just been a coincidence
Once you are logged in to KVR, go to the Podium review page from the link below.
Scroll down to where it says “User reviews for Podium”, and click to teh right of that where it says “click here to add a review”
🙂
a midiman (m-audio) oxygen 8. i’ll have to try unplugging the cable… could be a hardware error you think?
Hi Frits
I was about to send you a project file, but then I worked out what was causing the problem.
I had a MIDI input map assigned to the track EST was on (a mapping for my midi keyboard). When I unselected the map, the ghost notes stopped!
I wonder if you can do anything about this (ie implement something to stop it occuring), or if any other plugins are affected?
Thanks
Update: Sonicbytes GAT’r appears to be working fine, without any glitches
Hi Frits
I also own EST, and loaded it up in podium today.
The patterns appear to be sync’ing in time, however I am hearing “ghost hits” (which sound like random fills) along random time intervals. Could this issue be related to the issue you fixed in version 1.20? Do you mind checking the EST demo again to see if it works properly (just program a simple kick/snare pattern and listen to see if you can hear ghost notes too)
Thanks heaps
Edit: I have tried changing the buffer size of my sound card, and many settings in EST, all to no avail
i’ll just correct the “audio mappings” section based on what you’ve said, and get the files to you to upload (will email to info@zynewave.com within 12 hours)
as you said, the other pages can be completed at a later date, as this QuickStart currently is enough for anyone to get started I think
Hi Fritz
What day are you releasing the 1.25 demo?
We should try to get the QuickStart guide up on the Zynewave site by then, what do you think?
