I do understand you can’t make any promises considering you have made a roadmap already. Thanks anyway.

The mixer currently does not autoscroll to always keep the current track in view, but I could add an option for this. The docked bus returns would always show all bus return groups, so no scrolling needed for this section.
Fantastic! That’s a vote from me.

If a Bus is selected, it could display all tracks which send any amount to it.This gave me an idea for a mixer docking feature. I’ve added a “dock master chain” option to the mixer:
This has a couple of benefits: The master output section is always visible no matter what audio tracks are shown in the scrollable section. Having the master chain separated also saves the space for the master group headers above the regular audio tracks.
I’m going to experiment with a “dock bus returns” option, which similarly separates any bus return track chains from the scrollable section and docks them at either right or left side.
Useful?
It sounds great to me from what I understand. I think the “dock bus returns” option would be necessary too to clean the mixer view up.
So, is this how it would look like in the end in the mixer view?:
-Left:
Master/Inspector
-Middle:
Track1: VSTi plugin XY
Track2: VSTi plugin XY
…(until)…
Track12: VSTi plugin XY
-Right:
ALL Bus Returns
So If I select Track12 (which would be out of view because it only fits lets say 6 panels in a row for example), the middle range would scroll by itself to its end and highlight Track12? So whatever track is selected, the mixer makes sure I will see all Busses/Returns related to it by autoscrolling each region?
Just throwing in 2 Ideas:
Holding CTRL+SHIFT (or any other combination) while moving the gain fader knob in a mixer moves all other gain fades of all other tracks accordingly. So it’s possible quickly can turn down the overall volume of all other Gains while leaving the Master alone.
This is useful when inserting a new instrument and clipping occurs: Simply turn down the volume of all the other tracks while holding CTRL+SHIFT and moving the gain fader knob of the track.
‘HideAll’-option – when selecting a track, only its own mixer panel appears with all Bus Send/Returns used within its hirachy, all others (except the master) are invisible. Sometimes I can’t find the selected mixer panel since I used many tracks and then scroll to the end to adjust the Sends/Returns.
If a Bus is selected, it could display all tracks which send any amount to it.
Thanks 🙂
I wouldn’t have got it by myself. Thanks acousmod and Zynewave! Your solution of how to set it up works great 😉
Now that’s what I call timing, I just noticed the sustain pedal problem and searched in the forum first. Zynewave, a parameter panel to create individual midi parameters would be most appreciated. 😀

In the sequence editor: Make a selection of notes, press + on the Numpad Keyboard transposes the selected notes one up, pressing – on the Numpad transposes one note down.
I try to reserve keys on the numpad for transport control. You can use Ctrl+Up/Down to transpose semitones, and Shift+Ctrl+Up/Down to transpose octaves. Using +/- (not on the numpad) will adjust attack velocity.
Fantastic! This should be under Edit or right click menu in the sequence editor. I kinda understand why it’s not, it’s way cleaner without it… Thanks for this shortcut. I should print out a shortcut keyboard table.
Thanks Zynewave, I didn’t notice the transpose in the track inspector before … uhm 🙄
Sorry that my post reads like verbal vomit, but I needed to get it out of my head since those are all Ideas from the first time I started working with Podium. At least it’s out of my head, it feels much better now 😀
Great idea! It sounds like something that won’t be available in short term, which is quite understandable.
What is ZGrid or ZMaster? Are they upcoming VST plugins, or do they already exist (I haven’t noticed?!).
My mouse supports mid/side scrolling as well. I have a Logitech Wireless Laser Mouse, it is a bit heavy but really precise, great for graphics work too. I got used to it quite quickly, and I can recommend it to anyone, you will love it. 🙂
Zynewave, you rock, your reply speed is amazing 🙂
Thanks, ‘problem’ solved (what a simple solution again). Honestly, i wasn’t thinking of using the right mousebutton, since all the edit track tools are aligned on top, so I assumed it would be one of those tools. Even though it has been years I used cubase, you’ll never forget your first love 🙄 Just kidding.. time to move on. 🙂
Oh one thing, holding CTRL or SHIFT, while pressing the left mousebutton on the midi track, could select all midi containers inside the track.
The same thing could be reached by clicking the right mousebutton on the midi track, where the context menu would have another option “select all containers in this track” (or so…).
I have two midi containers in the same track. How can I join these two cotainers, to make it one big container?
In cubase was a glue tool, which can join two tracks together.

So I am giving up on Podium for now.
Is there a step-by-step idiots guide somewhere? If so, point me at it. I’d love to love Podium, but I just can’t make it do anything at all.

Been there, I know exactly what you’re talking about. As Zynewave suggested, watch FIRST the getting-started video. Second, you need to know that all effects are chained backwards, which is quite confusing when you start. It’s hard in the beginning. Don’t give up and read first, then rest, then try yourself. Podium (as many other programs) is one of those programs you need to understand its very unique workflow and construction first before you can do anything. There should be a Demosong provided as well (already suggested), but it’s not provided at the moment. Just don’t give up, it’s a great host.
Thanks! That did the job to bounce it off. 😉
