Beta2:
I have been profiling the CPU usage when doing long multi-channel recordings (+1 hour), and as a result I have been able to optimize the UI drawing of waveforms. You should see a considerable speed improvement (especially when recording audio), if you have a lot of waveforms on the screen simultaneously.
I have a few more areas I’m going to optimize, and then hopefully release 2.19 next week.
This is tedious work. Once 2.19 and my planned changes for 2.20 is done, I’ll need to do some fun UI stuff to recharge my batteries. 🙂
Does the slowdown also happen if instead of a loop range you select a segment range?
If you reduce the Podium window size, does this make the scrolling faster?
It may be a case where the available free video memory is exhausted, and thus Windows starts to render all drawing in system memory rather than the hardware accelerated video memory. How much video memory is allocated for the onboard video card?

Might be worth looking at some of those VIP Marketing related threads again Frits. :-k
I’m working on something I hope to have ready within a month. I’ll post in the VIP lounge for opinions in a week or so.

Podium is way too cheap. Or at least it think so 🙂
I can’t disagree with that. Considering the effort I have put into Podium development, selling a license for $50 is ridiculously low, compared to for example the prices of some commercial VST plugins. But I have to adjust my prices to competitors in the host market, and there are many that are priced below $100.

I have now donated ~64$
Wow, thanks 😯
I am grateful, and I think you have donated enough now. Please save your money for a cinema ticket, or a nice dinner out in the town 😉
I would not like my customers to feel that they are obliged to donate additional money to me. A lot of users are very helpful on this forum, which saves me time, which is worth a lot of money to me. A cheap and simple way to help me out, is to recommend Podium to friends you think would find Podium useful. The biggest problem I have is that Podium is relatively unknown. I’m not spending much time on promotion, which is a bad business decision 😳
Hi,
You can’t configure a single click action for drawing in a new note and then repositioning the note when dragging. As you have noticed, dragging in either directions adjusts note length or velocity. I’d need to add another configuration setting for this behaviour.
Currently you need to click to add a note, and then click the note again to start dragging it. This will also audition the note if you move it to another key.

May i ask do you code podium alone? And if so, are you ever though to hire someone with you? Is it possible on financially?
I do everything myself. My main interest is the development, so hopefully some time in the future I’ll be able to hire help with web-page design, manual writing, etc. At the moment I do not have funds for hiring help though.
Thanks for the donation. Much appreciated. 🙂

Podium works perfect in wine when you use directsound. (it has some glitches when compositing is on, but those go away when you use crossover office, or switch off compositing). Unfortunately you have serious latency problems with directsound (just like you’d expect)
What is compositing?
The problem lies with the wineasio driver. Podium seems to be able to access it (I can play vsti instruments with low latency), but can’t start the transport. I really think this is just a small issue, but I don’t have the experience to figure out what goes wrong in the code. The wineasio driver works perfectly with reaper and ext2.
Can you preview audio files in the Podium browser panel?
If so, can you open the sound file, enter the sound editor, and use the transport toolbar to play the sound file?
Maybe if Fritz could spare half an hour looking at this and then put a big “wine compatible” logo on his frontpage. I’ll happily make convenience scripts to install and configure linux boxes and update the wiki etc.
It would be nice to claim Wine compatibility, but I do not have access to a Linux machine, so it’s going to take considerably more than half an hour.
That’s very kind of you.
I do have a PayPal account. My PayPal email is: shop at zynewave.com
(substitute the ” at ” with @)
Depending on how much you intend to donate, you also have the option to purchase an additional 1 year of Podium software upgrades for $35, as described on the purchase page. The year will be added to your existing upgrade period. That way you get something for your money.

So, i highlight that area and i bounce it. It doesnt bounce begin my selection ❓ Oh boys..
It looks like you deleted the first master sound on the bounce track, but not the second one starting at bar 12. Unhide the bounce track again, delete all bounce events on the track, hide the bounce track, and redo the bounce.

PLS make like in other host. FILE -> Export WAV file. So we computer dummies will know what we do.
A menu/dialog for sound export is on my future plan. Until then you need to adjust the settings in the sound properties dialog for the bounced sound, if you want it in a different format than the default floating point.

Oh wait, thanks for help Frits! and others too. We have so good and cheery community here. It is so nice to help each others! Have a nice day..
I’m not always available to answer questions over the weekend.
Yes sir.. Just tell me how i get my song out of this program? I’m able to bounce my track as some wav file. It’s just create “master,master2..” wav files? And this way i cannot use 64bit engine cause it will record it as 64bit wav file and my wavelab doesnt support that. Or at least my version 5 doesnt.
So i want to use 64bit mixer, now tell me how i export normal 32floating point wav file??
I already answered all of this in my second last post in this topic. Please read this and tell me what part you are unsure of.

Frits, why podium doesnt always or at all read very long notes? if i play it from begin its reading fine, but when i try to skip there and there it doesnt read it. This sucks rly.
If you start playback in the middle of notes, Podium will not play these notes. I’ve chosen to do this because the sound would not be the same since the note attack will start at the point where playback starts.
Eh.. How i can get .wav file out on podium using mixer 64bit resolution? Normal 32 floating point wav file. Why there isnt under file menu export -> wav file.. or something like that. 👿
Edit; i manage to get audio out, but why the podium do always master and master2 files? Either of them dont play that my wanted area. First is too short and second start there where first left. Oh.. Facepalm facepalm..
Podium will automatically resize the master bounce sound if you keep the bounce track hidden. If you have shown the bounce track, then you are in charge of sizing the bounce events to whatever time range you want. Delete the two partial master sounds you have, hide the master bounce track, and then the next bounce should generate a properly sized master sound.
Changing the engine bit resolution will not affect any existing bounce sounds you have created in your arrangement. Newly created bounce sounds will be set to whatever the engine resolution is currently. To change the resolution of an existing bounce sound, open the sound properties dialog for the sound, and change the bit-resolution setting.
