So you have set it up similar to a plugin bank with program presets: A sysex library preset and a set of child presets configured with MIDI program change?
I guess I could implement it so that the parent sysex object is sent to the device first, and then the program change. I’ll put it on the todo list.
Ok, I thought you meant the timing of the recorded notes were not correct. So the notes that you do record are recorded ok?
When you say “click”, do you mean the metronome click?
Do you have punch-in/out enabled? If you are using punch-in, and press a key on your keyboard before the punch-in marker is reached, the note will not be recorded.
Even though I have worked at TC Electronic, I have little experience in comparing quality of different reverbs. I think zReverb can sound “professional” and it sure is better than SOME freeware alternatives out there. I’ll let others judge how it compares to the better reverbs.
Convolution reverbs are known for their faithful reproduction of actual recorded rooms, but compared to the top algorithmic reverbs they lack modulation features which can bring “life” into a reverb. Basic convolution reverbs can sound a bit static. Many of the best convolution based reverbs are hybrids which offer some modulation options.
Thanks for your contributions. It’s great to see the library is beginning to grow with the help from users.
I wrote some notes about the technology in the zReverb preview topic:
any idea how to solve this dilemma?
Hmm, no. I could add an option to only create subfolders for arrangements, but it will have to wait until later this year.
How big is the delay?
In case you have selected the “Use time stamps from driver” option for the MIDI input interface, try disabling this option.
Suggestion: You can create two folder objects named something like “Done” and “Drafts”, and move your arrangements into these. That way you decide how many arrangement groupings you want, instead of having to use a fixed dual list layout created by Podium.
The previous Beat version was 1.72.
I’m guessing it must have been something with your MIDI/audio interface setup in Podium that caused the crash. If it starts crashing again, send your Podium.ini file to me in a mail, and I may be able to see what could cause the crash.
Hi polysix,
Was Podium 1.74 the first time you installed Podium? If you have tried previous versions, did they work ok?
Does it always crash immediately when you start it, or have you had a chance to configure the MIDI/audio interfaces in Podium?
Try deleting the Podium.ini file before starting Podium. The file should be located here:
C:Documents and Settings[your user name]Application DataZynewavePodiumPodium.ini

I’m glad you got it working. Although I’m surprised it didn’t work for you with the project file you emailed me. I tried setting up a similar arrangement with my GPO installation, and playback of sustain parameter events were ok. It is a valid way to automate parameters with individual parameter events, but when you have more than a handful of them on a track (as you did) it makes more sense to use curve sequence automation instead.
When you play the instrument without recording, does your sustain pedal have an effect on the sound, i.e is the CC#64 getting through to the plugin?
Do you have the same problems with recording other MIDI parameters like modulation, pitch bend? (perhaps not relevant with a piano patch).
