Got it. Your “Mixer” profile is configured as an “All types” editor. Set it to “Arrangement” and it should work.

Please email me your Podium.ini file.

Try opening your Podium.ini file in a text editor, and see if it contains the string “ArrangementProfileNo”. There should be one for each browser window, provided that you have switched profiles at least once in each window.

That seems not to work here. Is there an option to activate this?

Just checked again, and it works as intended here. There is no option. You just select the desired arrangement profile once you have opened an arrangement editor. This profile will then be used by default every time you enter an arrangement editor in that window, until you select another profile.

If the stickie note pops up in your existing projects, then it must be because you created those projects with the new project start page. Just delete the message, save the project, and it no longer pops up the next time you load the project. I considered adding an option in the preferences dialog where you could disable the creation of the stickie note, but as you said, there are more important things to do.

Neither of those two synths have their presets shown in the preset Librarian

That is a different issue. If there are no programs or only one program in the Podium program list, it means the plugin handles preset browsing internally only, and does not support changing programs through the VST interface. The problem I referred to is when both the plugin editor and Podium displays the program list, and you change the program in the plugin editor.

I need to add some code that will listen to preset changes in the plugin, and subsequently assign the corresponding program preset object on the track. I’ll look at this for one of the coming releases.

The message is added as a stickie note to the project object. Just delete the message in the stickie note window when you’re tired of reading it.

“Insufficient resources” could be other things than main memory, such as video memory, number of open files etc. These resources could also be allocated by loaded plugins. Next time you get this error when opening another application, try switching off monitoring (to unload plugins) and then start the other application again.

Could we have more midi port options… kontakt supports the usual 1-16 plus b1-16,c1-16 etc.

Aren’t these extra MIDI ports a feature of the standalone version of Kontakt? VST plugins only support 16 MIDI channels.

Yes, my explanation sounds a little cryptic when I read it again. The result of it all is:

Say that you enable the ‘sync browser navigation’ option, and you open a second browser window where you select e.g. a mixer profile. The next time you start up Podium, you just double click an arrangement in one of the browsers, and both browsers will then enter into the arrangement editor with the same editor profiles you used last.

You avoid the steps of having to select the arrangement in both browsers and then selecting the mixer profile in the second browser.

Does each window remember the zoom values and if the inspector is visible or hidden ?

The zoom settings are already stored as properties of the arrangement. The track inspector state is already stored in the setup file, meaning that it is not logged for each arrangement but is logged for each editor profile. The new default profiles are stored for each browser window in the setup file and not for each arrangement. The new changes will not affect project files at all.

Definately the option for each browser window…
I generally use one window for the embed editor, which must be synced, and another one for a global view which is better to stay static.

The sync option will only sync the main object navigation in the browsers, i.e. the objects that are installed as pages in the top tabs. It will not affect the navigation within the arrangement editor, nor the embedded editors. So I think the global option will work in your case too?

I also plan to rename “sequence profile” to “editor profile”, which I think is easier to relate to.

This has been brought up several times in the past, so I thought I’d finally do something about it. The setup file now stores the last used arrangement and sound editor profile selected in a browser window. This means that if you select a mixer profile in a separate browser window, then this mixer profile will be used by default when you enter any arrangement in this browser window.

Next thing I’ll do is a “Sync Browser Navigation” option in the view menu. This option could either be a global option or stored for each browser window. If it is a global option, then all browsers will be synced when you navigate in one of the browsers. If the option is set for each browser window it will allow e.g. two browser windows to be synced, and a third browser window to not be synced. But this requires that you set the option in both browser windows, which could cause confusion. I’m more for the simpler global option. What would you prefer?

    Coming up in release 1.68.
