One of Kyrans top 5…and worth another mention here IMO.

A simple way to select a file and then “Open in External editor” would be nice. Some way to link the .exe file (for the external Editor) chosen by a user to a command to open the file externally should work.

So once the file is selected in Podium and the command (“Open in External editor”) is selected, then whatever app is specified or path to the .exe file in for instance Podiums Preferences, will be opened up automatically with the file inside the External app.

The command “Open in External editor” within Podium would effectively be similar to right clicking on a file in Windows Explorer and choosing “Open with” That of course will trigger the chosen app to start with the selected file.

In Podium “Open in External editor” will do the same thing but from within Podium. Some features are simply not available yet so this is still necessary IMO while Podiums feature set is still growing in key areas.

Some way to then save changes to a file and update that in Podium would be even better still. Perhaps if Podium detects the file has been changed it can simply replace the original or create a new file and ask the user if he/she would like to replace the old one in the arrangement.

    Interesting thoughts… 🙂

For me the idea Frits came up with for “Marker Linking” in the 2.31 thread and a way to offer a much more creative experimental workflow in Podium ALMOST made my list. I would say it is probably no. 5.1 out of the 5 I listed in the Competitions thread. 🙂

I would absolutely love to see that in Podium (effectively a Zynewave answer to Blocks but potentially better) but those 5 I listed are still ahead (only just though). 😉

    – Paint tool – click, hold and drag to create multiple notes in a row (can be done nicely with the insert key currently, but not quite as fast).

I would like to see something like that for Audio events. ACID has probably the best example of this. Hold the edge of the file and drag to paint repetitions of the audio event.

Allow me to end this with a film quote, as hommage to Conquistador’s Lord of the Rings FR thread! 😆

    1. File Management

    2. BWF file support (Import and export for easy file placement in Podium and when exported for easier file use in other DAW’s)

    3. Multi-track MIDI and Audio export (to facilitate much easier file transfer for clients e.t.c)

    4. x64 version of Podium

    5. Pitch correction as a plugin or as a view.
ReaTune and GSnap are good examples of basic but still highly useful plugins of this type. Perhaps the zPitch plug can be extended to include this functionality. Neptune is a more advanced example.

Frankly considering English is not your first language I think you have made a great effort to express yourself correctly. 🙂

Are you saying that you’d rather not have the highlighting? I made it for consistency with the note event highlighting. I’m planning to add it to the tempo and marker events as well.

Personally I would definitely prefer to keep the highlighting. I think it serves a very good purpose.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I was not asking for a specific version of Podium that such features might appear in as I have witnessed how easily the direction of Podiums development can change (which is a good thing) but it’s OK Frits, I think you answered the question anyway cheers! 🙂

    Nice. 🙂

I really like the deal breakers idea. Lets see what potential customers want to see in Podium. All the other ideas are very good as well IMO. =D>

    Good. Very good IMO.

Simple request: if you combine Piano and Drum Roll, please make sure you can have a very close vertical zoom (as you can do now in the beta9 drum roll, I use it to the maximun always). I’d love use big ‘dots’ (events) for Drum Roll because it gives me a step sequencer feeling.

Yes please. Lets not lose the higher zoom level.
