Ok since I started this thread it is now officially changed to the clip fades featuring drum quantizing thread. 😆
It might get a bit quiet around here Frits with everyone in read only mode because we dare not side track you from clip fades! 😆

In the old wizard go to the bottom. Select all the mappings you like to link to new tracks, and click on “create tracks”. Especially when creating 12 tracks for a drum sampler, this feature is great, because you can easily selects all sampler mappings at once.
Ok I see what you mean…but that is not the same thing I am suggesting. It does allow you to select as many mappings as you want but I am referring to simply right clicking on a track and being given a very simple numerical value (likely default 1) that I can change to 5, 10 or 20 e.t.c
I want to avoid going to the wizard which will likely be phased out anyway and involves Ctrl clicking to get the number mappings you want.
The suggestion I am putting forward is much quicker and simpler. What you described is similar yes, 😉 but not exactly what I am suggesting.
I am suggesting a very simple track level right click numerical option. 😉

possible by using the wizard.
Which one the old project wizard or the new four button process? I cannot find anyway to choose how many tracks I want to insert before I insert them.
If the process exists in the old project Wizard I think Frits will likely phase that out anyway as it was created to serve the older version of Podium not really for the more recent versions with the new project start page.
So even if an option existed within the old project Wizard it is very likely to be moved elsewhere (I would still like to know where it is)
I cannot find any option in the new four button process either to choose the number of tracks to insert before inserting them. Please show me how if it does exist anywhere in Podium currently. 😉

Perhaps can you begin your track names with a number if you want ?
That suggestion is even better than both of my suggestions. 🙂
That way Podium would easily keep the current flexibility with tracks while putting the simple process of numbering tracks into the hands of a user..for instance in the Track properties area.
Even if the track numbering feature is just for audio tracks, it is a very glaring ommission for *any* multitrack host to not at least offer an option for it. ❗
A user configurable option in the track properties area would be absolutely fine under Layout for instance but at least somewhere in the Track properties area as well as possibly a right click option. 😉
I would 100% prefer to set it and forget it as in other hosts (they have them on by default) by adding a Number all Tracks option in the Preferences > Grpahics tab. There is plenty of space for it there. 😉 I don’t have the time to set it for every track every time…but having a Global option, Track properties and Right click option would surely suit everyone.
The global option is my number 1 choice. 😉

Perhaps that at some point we will have a docking zone at the bottom where we could dock what we want ?
Reaper does this actually very well (sorry…).
You can have the Media Explorer, the Plugins Explorer, the Mixer, a Navigator, the Routing Matrix, and all the plugins that you want to be there, all accessible with tabs.
All can be docked / float easily like in Acid / Vegas.
Very simple and very useful !But I suppose that it would need a completely different approach of the windows handling.
Yes I think Reaper has tabs at the bottom. That is a good idea. 😉
@acousmod wrote:
I think that it is only for creating folders and renaming files inside Podium’s browser, not on the drive.
Yes you may be right although I have not tried that yet.
If you have an audio card with several outputs, you can choose to listen the file from the first one (outputs 1-2 in stereo), or the third one (outputs 3-4) etc.
Useful to hear them on other speakers or through external effects
Ok…yes that is a very good idea. 🙂

Just to say : you are inspired today !
Cheers Acousmod. 😆
Actually I have had these feature requests on post it notes on my desk for months and months and just never got around to posting them here. None of them appear to be on the future road map as well.
It may look a bit strange to see so many posts…but I have been scribbling them down on paper for ages and finally decided to get them all together and post them…just a few more to go 8)
I have very realistic expectations of Frits time and fully appreciate he may not get round to implementing most of these for a very long time but I could not find them on the Future Road map so I thought I really need to post them so Frits can either add them to the Future road map or at least have a quick reference here on the Future forum when he is ready to implement them. 😉
I think these feature requests are better placed where Frits can see them and Podium users can discuss them, than in a heap of post it notes on my desk! 8)

As Acousmod mentioned in another post…automatic tempo sync of any wave file through the List view.
Me ??????
Certainly not !
I NEVER use tempo. 😈
It was someone else…Aaaaaaahhh, realtime time stretching and transpose when dragging edges…
Certainly the next step after fades and clip volumes (for Christmas ?). 😛
Clip fades would be ahead of SRC and Time stretching for me. As for a the timeframe… 🙂 somehwere in Frits mind lies the answer… 😉 Soon I guess.
@acousmod wrote:
Why not…
An “always on top” would also be useful when a plugin is on a second monitor.
On the main screen they are always on the top of the arrangement or the browser, but on the second one (at least when not in full screen ?), each window goes to the first plan when clicked.
For the plugins it is rather annoying…
Or is there already a trick ?
Yes the idea is simply to have them visible but not floating on top all the time. As for tricks for second monitor usage I guess Frits can say yay or nay on that one. 😉 as I do not use two monitors at this time.
Double post sorry 😳

Perhaps starting with a more explorer like List View ?
– start with Computer instead having to search for a new folder each time we want to choose a file in another partition or drive
Yes. This would be much easier to navigate.
– allow to create folders and rename files (already on the ToDo list)
I think if you right click in the left sided browser in the List view you can already create a folder and as a result rename it.
Riight click > New Object > New folder The term New object might be a bit confusing for something that allows for New folder creation in the List view. 😐
– a mini transport at the bottom to start / stop / seek playback with a volume slider
Yes great ideas. At least a volume slider for previewing.
– an auto play and loop option
Yes. Sounds like an FR I am about to post 😉
– the choice of the view type (list, icons, tree, details)
Very good. I never even thought of those options. 😆
– sort by name, size etc…
– auto refresh
Yes.
– why not the selection of the first output for auditionning ?
I think I know what you mean but please explain… 😉
You can now download the presets 😉
You can use this utility to open them if you have any issues opening the zip file…Zip genius standard. This can be downloaded here…
http://www.zipgenius.it/eng/?page_id=12
Once you have installed Zip Genius, simply right click on the zip file and choose “Extract here to 51ZPEQFXBfiles”
Once unzipped as Frits said earlier…
“use the ‘import library preset from file’ command in the preset panel menu, browse to the folder with the zPEQ fxp files and select all the files in the file dialog (ctrl+a selects all). This will import all presets as program library presets”
Boost levels are no more than 3db. I wanted to make sure any higher boosts are based on your own tastes. These presets are just starting points. 😉
Let me know what you think!

Hi Conquistador
I’m looking forward to trying out your presets, thanks for sharing them 🙂
Hi Caco,
Thanks for the comments. I should have them ready for download later today. 8)

Torben has sent me a short reply:
“The name is only defined in one place and is used for various things, such as copy protection, so therefore it is the same for all three variants”.
Interesting. That means that all the other host I tried the GEQ -7 in, use a different naming process. Straight from the .dll file name.
Torben is talking about the name that is returned when a host asks for it (I think) which Podium is picking up correctly, he must know (I think he uses Cubase) that they will appear differently in most hosts perhaps Cubase as well.
I suspect he might not have come across this kind of problem before as other hosts will identify each plug based on the name of the .dll file. Don’t know why but clearly that is what is happening.
Podium is apparently doing nothing wrong. I guess I will just have to rename the plugs in my default project template, to avoid having to do it each time. That should side step me having to face the problem again.
Thanks for posting his response. I am not a developer but sometimes the multi layered interaction of hosts (VST, VSTi, driver, sub host, OS) means it is sometimes useful to know why something is different to everything else to avoid a similar problem later. 8)
Thanks for looking into it! 8)
The presets all work now…success!
Thanks Frits! 🙂
