Frits, I was just recording some tribal drums with a midi controller and I discovered a bad behaviour that I don’t see before (maybe I’m wrong).
Just draw a small drum sequence in sequencer, set a loop on it and record some random drums. If you allow that cursor do the loop (or if there is another phanton sequence) the new midi events that should be played will be recorded.
This is the final result, tons of midi notes superimposed:
Best regards
@H-man, yeah I must search another avatar, just lazy 😛
wow, its fun. It would be nice that you can resize the “lense” or “focus” vertically also, and move it around.
Two small bugs:
1. When you use the hotkeys Ctrl+Alt+Mouse wheel and do the zoom as close as you can, Podium gets freezed, you cannot “un-zoom”.
2. If you close Podium with any editor windows opened (not embeded) when you run again Podium you will see that editor without any information opened in the project setup page. This also happens with older Podium versions.

Something like this would be great:
Agreed, +1, etc…
+1 again, really impressive
it isn’t only about delete, unselect note with pencil tool is critical! (because you cannot do it in any way)
Bump again, please Frits consider add the option of delete and unselect notes with right click, it’s pretty uncomfortable have to switch tools [-o<
Awesome, I’d complained also about old automation system in another thread. Thanks for ear us O:)
This kind of work will achieve that Podium would be popular, it’s laborius although: keep it simple and without incongruities!
Example: Sylenth1 has midi learn. Poise also.
You can link a knob to a physical knob of your hardware controller. Then when you arm the track for recording and turn on record if you move the knob with the physical knob the automation curve isn’t created, but if you move the same knob with mouse then the automation curve is created.
I don’t ask about this before because midi controllers aren’t fully supported yet…

There is a new beta5 where point events snapped on the sequence end is included in the track curve.
It works impeccable! ThaNks and good weekend! 😀
same here
I think it would be more accurate, no big deal although
Awesome Frits. The only minor bug I find is this:
The last stretch of the curve hasn’t slope in sequencer. Curve editor snap is 1/16, while sequencer snap is set to 1/1.
Best regards 🙂
@Zynewave wrote:
As soon as you release the mouse the curve should be overwritten ok I hope. Podium will only delete any existing curve being overwritten when it receives a new value from the plugin or when the control is released. That is for performance reasons.
oh, I understand, thanks 🙂
I have now added support for Ctrl+Clicking on the track record button or pressing Ctrl+R key shortcut to toggle record mode of all tracks in the chain (source track and all effect tracks in the chain).
That will be helpful for newbies!
If I do this, it would mean that the alt+click shortcut for resizing events will no longer be possible. Personally I often use this shortcut instead of pointing the mouse to the small resize box at the edge of the sequence/sound events. Maybe I’m the only one using the alt+click shortcut for resizing?
That would be hilarious 😆 I don’t use that shorcut for resize, I don’t know about other Podium users… anyway I think that is very important keep the consistency between Ctrl-Alt. Maybe you could include AltGr for resize (it’s only a suggestion) 😉
Best regards
Alt key don’t work as the new behaviour of Ctrl key 🙁
Please, could you do that Alt key can be pressed before left click in any secuence for create a phantom copy?
@Zynewave wrote:
If you don’t want fader movements to affect the curve sequences when recording is not active, then what’s the purpose of moving the fader?
I understand, thanks 🙂
@Zynewave wrote:
Try the new beta3. Grabbing/releasing a Podium mixer parameter fader or a plugin editor control will now be recorded properly with start and end points. Note that some plugins do not report when a control is grabbed/released, so for these plugins you won’t get a final recorded end point on the curve when you release the control.
However there are problems yet. Try to record any knob movement (i record it tweaking the vsti knob instead podium mixer fader) when there is a curve sequence created:
1. When you move a knob and keep it in the same value the curve isn’t modified [in order to show the horizontal line] until you move the knob a little. I’ve tried with Firebird and Sylenth1, I don’t knob if these plugins have the report problem.
2. If in the sequence curve there is a pre-made long 100% horizontal line and you record on part of it another different value all the horizontal line will change to that new value, if cursor didn’t reach the end of it even.
Hope this help 😀
Thanks again
edit: feature request while arm tracks: when you arm a track for record automaticaly arm all its plugin chain. I think this is a good idea because would be more easy for newbies record knobs tweaks without too much Podium understanding. Finding that Ctrl+click on a plugin arm their respective layer for record is a hard job.
I think that in track’s sequencer you should see only the instruments if you left click in the source slot. If you right click then full menu.
And honestly, when i started to use Podium I right click here for add instruments, later I discovered that I can do a single left click in mixer tabs and I could insert instruments/effects/inputs easily without navigate through a menu. Then I thought that it should be the same in the source slot of sequencer’s track.
The mixer menus are perfect.
edit: how it should be in my opinion:
