I think a step in the right direction would be to show a warning popup on plugin tracks that does not have a preset assigned. I can’t think of a situation where you wouldn’t either have a program or a library preset assigned. I’ll try to fit this into the next release.
sounds great, thanks 😀

PS Anyone else forgetful like me?
Errm..me too 😉 – I agree with your suggestion as well.
I think this issue may have come up before mind you.Mart.
I’ve been meaning to bring this up for a while as well, I just kept forgetting to… so i forgot to post about me forgetting 😆
welcome to the forum 8)

Just a quick suggestion: Maybe you can optimize the bouncing process if you solo the track that you are bounce recording.
this is what I always do when bouncing – it’s good practice to do so, no matter what host you use, in my opinion
Soloing tracks then bouncing them is working great for me. Whenever I start to run out of CPU I bounce the instruments in the arrangement which are unlikely to change, and I always keep the original midi tracks (although muted) in case I need to revisit sequences. I don’t even care about offline bouncing because the current bounce works fine for my needs 8) But I understand we all work differently 😉

Or use OpenOffice, which has build-in PDF-Export … http://www.openoffice.org
i didn’t know that… thanks for the tip 8)
download the PDF995 printer driver from this page http://www.pdf995.com/download.html and install it.
Copy and paste all the Guide html pages into word. You might want to insert a page break for each section. You can also try just opening the html pages in Word and then copying and pasting each page into one Word document.
When you’re finished building the document, choose File… Print… but change the printer to “PDF995” and it should make a PDF
I don’t have Word installed on this computer so I can’t do it
(edited to make instructions a little clearer)

Hey Super Crunchy,
Thanks for that, but buying another host/plugin is not what I can afford at the moment.. :
by the way, eXT is only 39 euros… it’s well worth it. I use it alot to work around any current Podium shortcomings (such as midi streaming). I don’t sequence in it though, I just use it as a mini host within podium
The demo is fully functional, but you can’t save and reload until you purchase… give it a try, you might be hooked! PS it can appear to be quite complex to new users so check out the manuals on the energyXT site
However, for anyone who is put off by having to have one group track for each effect applied, this could be your answer!
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1068.html
put all your effects for one track (eg mixing processor for a track) in this plugin to clean up the Podium mixer… it’s in beta stage though, so use at your own risk
let us know how you go. I probably won’t try VSTHost, but I’m checking out this one which was recommended by someone on KVR
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1068.html
Edit: Ignore this plugin, it’s a VST effect chainer only (not for instruments as well)
One more thing… VSTHost is free! The author says you can donate money if you feel like it thought 😉
This is the help PDF for it:
you should give VSTHost a try:
http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm
Scroll down to the “VSTHost Slavery Suite” section
So, you’d have VSTHost.exe (Slave) and Podium running alongside each other, and a VST effect or instrument “Master” of VSTHost inserted in Podium to control the Slave.
Jamstix and sampler would be inside VSTHost.exe (the slave)
I haven’t tried this myself… but I’ll give it a try some time, you should do the same Podianer… it might be a nice workaround until Podium eventually supports MFX and midi streaming from plugin to plugin

Almost a year ago I went back to a part-time employment at TC, so I’m not economic dependent on Podium sales.
Good to hear 8) I’ll stop bugging you with marketing ideas then 🙂
Cheers
Also, have you thought about having a competition to encourage people to play with Podium long enough to get over the initial learning curve (which seems to turn alot of people off)
eg. produce a tune with a time-limited demo from a set list of free plugins. Winner could be judged by you and win a free Podium licence! Winner would have to email you their project so they could prove they made the track in Podium.
Could heavily promote this on KVR and other forums. Just an idea, let me know what you think. I think it would be a very good way to get people hooked – they’d have to learn the basics of Podium to be able to make a track in it, and once they do I feel alot of users would want to buy the full version 8)
Competition could run for 3 months to give people enough time.
Again, all just idea, feel free to shut them down if you think they’re crap 😆
